UC fans are bitching about the refs, saying that they got hosed.

Yes but there was no flag thrown on the play & the guy was like 2/3 yards past the
line of scrimmage. The announcers even said no flag was thrown & they said lineman had no effect on the play.
(referring to the touchdown that was called back after the penalty for ineligible receiver downfield)

1. There WAS a flag thrown. I saw it immediately. It was on the far side of the field from the TV perspective, on the same side I was sitting on. But I watched the game later and heard the announcers say there was no flag - they're blind, then.
2. 2 or 3 yards is as much of a penalty as 100 yards past the line of scrimmage.
3. No effect on the play? What is this - soccer? How often do you see touchdowns call back because of a hold that's away from the play?

As soon as he threw the ball I wondered how there could possibly NOT be linemen downfield. That was about an obvious penalty call as there ever has been.

Honestly, I wish we could go back to the old days and just stop scheduling the backup schools. These back stabby little parasites aren't worth the trouble they bring. I'd rather do a 2 for 1 with an out of state school that would offer a cool road trip such as Colorado or UNLV.

But they're Ohio State's natural OOC rival!!!111!!! Ohio State is just scared to play them.

The no effect on the play comment is stupid (both by them and the announcers, who may have said "away from the play" but it doesn't matter) because it assumes the the defenders don't react to the Linemen releasing down the field. That's why they seemed to be taken by surprise. (P.S. "no effect on the play" happens all the time in football, its called declining the penalty... so, you know, if Bosa had ripped that kids helmet off, they wouldn't have called it back, unfortunately for the Juggaloes, the penalty was on the offense)
