Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

Kiel should make UC competitive in the AAC throughout his career at UC. But OSU will put a hurting on him. I don't believe UC is close to OSU's level

I think Kiel has the potential to win a lot of games for UC - especially considering the conference we're in. My fear is that our O-line won't be able to protect him in the OSU game next year, and he'll get knocked out of the game with a season-ending injury.

The Bearcraps ; the only school where even their mascot gets arrested during a game:

Cincinnati's Bearcrap mascot was cited for disorderly conduct after a snowball-throwing incident in the stands during a game against Pittsburgh.

A school spokesman says the mascot also was told to stop throwing snowballs in the stands and pushed a security guard, knocking both of them to the ground. The mascot was detained and cited. He was not identified.

A backup mascot took his place at halftime

Cincy getting a home game vs. Alabama would be huge for Bearcats

According to Tom Groeschen of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Alabama and Cincinnati are having talks about a potential scheduling agreement that could bring the Crimson Tide up to the state of Ohio for a game.

How again would UC getting utterly embarrassed by 5+ TDs against Bama be positive? Monetarily is the only way this is a positive experience for UC, since competitively they're not on the same page as Bama.

For the same reasons it's a positive for them to play, and probably get handily beaten by, OSU. The money, as you mentioned, is certainly a factor. But so is the attention, which can separate them from lower-tier mid-majors. The alternative for them is to play their usual opponent with little money being made, few people knowing or caring whom Cincinnati is playing that week, and fewer still actually watching it.

Actually, it's a no-lose situation for them. They get paid, they get exposure, and if they keep it closer than two TDs, it is a recruiting tool. Well, there is the negative that people will see who their fans are, but some creative camerawork by ESPiN should help minimize that.

If a premier team like Alabama is willing to schedule a home-and-home, you take it and worry about getting your ass kicked later. This is all just rumors at this point anyway. I'll believe it when I see the Crimson Tide take the field in Nippert.

Agreed.
On a similar topic, and I don't mean to imply that this is or should be what happening here, but can a team split its 120 players into an "A" team and a "B" team, and play 2 games in one day? Can Alabama play Kansas State AND Cincinnati in one day? I'm sure they're still limited to 12 games in the season, so the only benefit to this is to give themselves another bye week.
I wonder if they could win BOTH games by kicking only field goals, even though the other teams each score touchdowns...

I suspect this game will be at PBS.
Alabama probably wouldn't take the field at Nip, it's too small.

Although it would be pretty funny to see at 45k stadium filled with 30k Crimson fans

UC looked pretty good on offense with Kiel, the defense left a lot to be desired. But because it's a win, the Juggalos will be out in full force next weekend. Not sure if Toledo was that bad on defense or UC had such a good offense.
