Bitch move is right. Stanford snobbery all the way back to that horse face fucker Elway.

I didn't say he owes me or anyone else anything but you know who he does owe? his teammates. Period. I get that it's his right to not play and it's not lost on me what these players sacrifice for this game. Primarily their physical and mental well being. You just don't leave your guys, most of which are probably not going to the NFL, who are preparing for their last football game...because of a "business decision".

I will say this if these guys are still on the sidelines cheering their teammates on I'll adjust my stance from bitch move. Otherwise, whatever, because nobody really gives two shits about my IMO anyway.:lol:

Difference between declaring early and skipping out on a scheduled game with your boys.

With some of the logic here, it seems like many would have been O.K. with Zeke skipping the Fiesta Bowl.

Sure. Because how I feel is irrelevent towards his financial decisions. Zeke doesn't owe me a thing. We only cheer for him because he chose to attend the university of which we are fans. But let's not forget one major thing...these guys are PLAYING a GAME. It's a game and we are crying about what's fair to other men PLAYING a GAME. He can do whatever he wants and the sun will still rise on the planet I live on.

But most of the commentary (nationally, not here) has been that it is OK as long as you don't do it when you're playing in one of the big 6 bowls. And specifically not acceptable if you are in the playoff games/bowls. Seems like the pundits don't think anyone would consider NOT playing if they are in one of the "premier" events. I'm sure this will happen at some point too though. Just a matter of time.

I'm well aware of all these things, my initial post regarding McCaffrey was that I respect his decision.

But if it was one of my teammates, I would take offense. I'd shake his hand, wish him well, tell him to chase the dream and make money. But for those of us who still fought hard through a long and difficult season, we want to see it end, and send the seniors out on a high note.

This. If everybody could just do this.

If the seniors want to go out with a win, they could try and win the game. They're seniors. If they want to be winners, they should look to themselves first and foremost before putting that weight on an underclassman to do it for them. Or they could just be better players and go pro. If they aren't going pro, then they just play a game for fun and can take their free college degree and go live in the real world where other people don't owe them anything there, either.

Yeah but there's a huge difference between that and quitting during the season. This year's team was never counting on Zeke. They all knew from the beginning of winter workouts he wouldn't be there. Stanford meanwhile has relied on mcaffrey all year and now has to adapt and overcome even though he's perfectly capable of playing. That is quitting. I'm not even judging him. It's his life. But that is the definition of quitting. Zeke never quit

I'm positive they do look to themselves first and foremost. But regardless if you're an under or upper classmen, if you're a starter on this team and I'm a senior, I expect you to go out and give every bit the effort I would go out giving.
Jesus Christ, football is supposed to be a microcosm of humanity. Team work, self sacrifice and having a singular goal. Sure it's just 'a game'. But in a way I find how I play to be a representation of myself.
