Chris Holtmann (ex-tOSU Bball coach, HC at DePaul)

Thad Matta's last 4 years that got him run out of town:
87-50, 39-33 B1G, missed tournament once.

Holtmann's last 4 years that should get him run out of town:
69-46, 31-35 B1G, probably gonna miss the tourney for the 2nd straight year.

Now consider that Matta had plenty more good will banked given his resume. Holtmann's resume is a pretty good first year followed by 6 years of mediocre-to-bad teams, never advancing past the round of 32.

Get him outta here. And I'm eating a heaping plate of crow here because I was one of the biggest fans of hiring him at the time. Tastes like chicken.

Ohio State needs to allow coaches time and space to build national competitiveness from whatever point it is on hiring. They need then to hold these highly-paid coaches accountable for their team's performance. In many respects, Holtmann is an excellent coach. His students perform well scholastically and in the community. Unfortunately, he does not appear to be able to build, motivate and prepare a team for competition at this level. He has squandered his time and clearly is not capable of success at Ohio State.

Seems like a nice guy. He'll land on his feet but he first needs to be thrown out the open window.

Holtmann's first year was emboldened by Keita coming off an injury the previous year and going off. Since then, jerkoff/gif. I'm not one to say "next", but

I heard a quote from Holt a while back regarding transfers which made me scratch my head. Basically he viewed transfers as something he was counting on every year and I didn’t like the way it sounded at all. I know it’s a reality today but it sure seems to me now that Coach has had the wrong approach.
