A standout at Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), Bisontis was excellent in his workout with Ohio State on Wednesday. He moved well, used his hands far better than most kids his age and showed an unexpected athleticism. There’s a reason that the Buckeyes offered him last December. He has a very high ceiling on and off the field. That was a major component in the presentation put forth by Ohio State.
“They told me I’m not going to just get better on the field, but that Ohio State is going to make me better as a person,” Bisontis said. “A better human being off the field, in the weight room and as a teammate, too. Just going over their record and what they’ve done, they’ve produced a lot of [NFL] offensive lineman, which is awesome. But it’s not just four years, it’s 40.
“They really focus on the academics and making sure their guys have opportunities at jobs, hopefully after the NFL but not always. Football does end one day. There has to be a plan after.”
