Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

Ignore the scoreboard, I did not lose to that team.

You'd think a 3-9 season where you were regularly humiliated by teams with far less talent would humble a man. Not fat Charlie...

Report: Weis projects 9-12 wins

Posted: Sunday July 06, 2008 09:43AM ET

Blue and Gold Illustrated reports that Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis, coming off a 3-9 season, is "privately projecting anywhere from nine to 12 victories this year." "The only regular-season game in which Notre Dame figures to be a serious underdog is the finale at USC, so Weis could conceivably have an 11-0 team heading out there if everything comes together. At that point, anything's possible."
Detroit Free Press
11-0? :slappy:

*edit* oops, posted earlier. Eh, worth seeing again.

9 to 12 wins? Wow! Talk about drinkin' the Koolaid! I'm thinking 6-7 and a minor Bowl game. And I just wonder if Tenuta isn't already a better coach than Weiz? Next head coach at the Golden Dome?
And some Domers who thought there was "bad" coaching of the offensive line last year think that gaining weight in the offensive line will equal "good" coaching this year?
Defensively, Tenuta will be a major upgrade and will help the whole team.

Scout.com: Ranking the 2008 Head Coaches - No. 1 to 60

48. Charlie Weis, Notre Dame ? Yes, Weis has a sharp offensive mind and can recruit, but last year?s 3-9 collapse and a couple of ugly bowl losses have red flags going up all over the place. He needs to stop the bleeding as quickly as possible, or else the scrutiny and pressure will reach unbearable levels.

Clearly ND wants the #48 coach for all that cash they're dropping.

According to my source, had Weis not negotiated the extension to his contract and thereby put crippling financial penalties in place if he were fired, he would have been gone already. I think our Notre Dame fans visiting this site might be very well aware that University administrators are anything but pleased about his performance or ego. If he loses six games this year, I think they will fire him anyway.
