Charlie Weis (ex-Kansas HC, ex-Fla OC, Notre Dame legend, UnDecided Schematic Advantage)

Note the major news stories right now on ESPN's sidebar, and consider these people five years ago:

  • Weis was a genius bringing schematic advantage to Notre Dame
  • Bowden had just won his 12th ACC title
  • Tiger was in the first real "slump" of his career, yet was still infallible and untouchable.
  • Serena also slumping (and injured), but only two years removed from the "Serena Slam"; also untouchable.
  • Iverson was in his last season with 76ers, but still a desired scoring champ (33 ppg that year).
  • Delhomme QB'ed the Super Bowl runner-up Panthers, looked like a future star.

First pics of him leaving the AD's office. He seems chipper.

Doubtless he will end up OC somewhere like Washington or Buffalo soon enough, and will doubtlessly be good there. The question is will he ever be a HC prospect again...I say no, and definitely not in the college ranks. Maybe in 10 years in the NFL. Maybe.

Clausen goes pro and next year they just have a true frosh at QB because of the knee op to the back up. So they start losing badly and we hear........."It's all Weis's fault! He brought in the wrong guys!" :tongue2:

Agreed Bucklion, I think he has shown that he is not competent at developing talent, or does not have the insight to see players at any position other that they were recruited to play. I also think his ego is too big to allow him to let others take care of that for him at the college level. He could get a chance at the pro level, but I think he could only be successful there if there was a strong GM or Player Development type to keep his ego in check.
