Charles Barkley (merged all)

If anyone is watching the halftime show of the Kansas/Illinois game, you'll understand why I don't like Chuck. I know he was a great player and has forgotten more about basketball than I'll ever know, but I just don't find him good at being on TV and talking about college basketball. I don't like him for the NBA either, but it's just obvious that he doesn't know the college game very well.

He said the Big East was overrated. Instead of just saying "look at how many of the Big East teams have lost," he tried to explain it in some way that made no sense whatsoever and came off looking like an idiot.

Can't stand him.. Kenny Smith is on the same level.

Oh dear I hope the rest of you just saw that halftime segment from the Illinois/Kansas game. Barkley goes back on his Big East is overrated rant saying they're a league of great coaches without any great players aside from Walker, and Pitino just gave him a look that said, 'Chuck, don't go to sleep tonight, because you're going to wake up with a horses head in your bed tomorrow morning.'

Pitino was not happy, I enjoyed that aspect of Chuck's rant that made little sense, even though I know I agree with what he was trying to say.

"Just when I think I'm out, they pull me back in."

Just so long as he keeps his Pitino in his pants....

the thing about bilas, though, is that he has a logical reason for his opinions. he doesn't cling to platitudes or biases.

I'm not a big fan of Bilas. He is in the back pocket of the "BCS" teams. Said VCU has "no business being in the tournament over Colorado".

The same Colorado team that had a non confrence SOS in the 300s and a RPI in the 60s

Or not. He's about the only one of these guys who seems willing to admit that his knowledge base for the college game isn't very good. And he's always entertaining.

I read an article before the tournament that said that he told Turner Sports that he thought preparing for the broadcasts by watching film of anybody but the major teams was "bullshit", and they put him on the air anyway. He's not going anywhere.

He's had the DUI incident, gambling problems, he says controversial things about race, higher ed, politics, other public figures, and he called somebody a pussy on live TV. Does anybody really think he's going to lose his job or even a second of airtime because he's shitting on the Big East?
