Champs Sports Bowl - Wisconsin 13, Fla St 42 (Final)

and some actual WRs, and a lot better defensive development (despite better incoming talent than Alvarez), and advice from Alvarez from how to avoid becoming Minnesota.
Exactly. Bielema is simply in over his head. His recruiting stinks (not that Wiscy has ever been a recruiting juggarnaut, but Alvarez was a master at maximizing the talent he had), his teams are undisciplined, his game management is Crennel-like, and he doesn't seem to be able to get a fraction out of the talent he has that Alvarez did. He rode a cushy schedule and Alvarez's players to a 12-1 first season, and it's been downhill since. Wiscy will remain in the bottom 3rd of the Big-Ten standings as long as Bielema remains there. Mark my words. This might have been their last bowl for a while.

I defer to your superior knowledge of the program. But a more creative offense and a non-sucky qb could have won some games this year.

I admit his "you don't want no piece of Wisconsin" coupled with his disappearance after the game is bush league

This may be true, but he needs to recruit a QB because as far as I know, they have none. Chryst is an awful OC, no doubt, but there is talent lacking at WR, QB and I believe they lose 3 OL this season. Plus, the guy is just a mook. His gametime decision making is mind-boggling at times. They appear rather sloppy defensively compared to the Alvarez teams as well.

Yeah, that was pretty pathetic. I couldn't believe he said that shit. But, like I said, he's a fuckin' mook. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him doing keg stands on the sidelines. He's a notch below DickRod in my book. By below, I mean not quite as bad.

I had Big 10 teams as possibly having a chance in exactly 2 bowl games and this was one of them. PJ Hill's 30 yard run near the start of the 2nd quarter had to have all but killed his NFL draft prospects. Looked like Datish trying to outrun Ginn against ND a few years back.

I could just imagine all the SEC fans (Yeah, couldn't help but notice the SEC fan gear, including a gator who kept giving the gator chomp every time FSU did something good) chanting "SEC speed!"

Once more, they kept throwing up all the FSU "facts." 21 Bowl wins. What they didn't say was not a one of those bowl wins came North of Atlanta.

Look at those crowds in these games... 50,000 in a stadium that holds 70K... there is ABSOLUTELY no reason why the bowl games can't be distributed better geographically.

I go back to my debate with Gatorubet earlier this year and his claim that Florida would be at a fan disadvantage in the Orange Bowl. Bull shit. When you see a guy in a Forida jersey doing the Gator chomp following an FSU TD you know where the fan support was for the game. Southern teams are playing nothing but another home game at the end of the season.

For that matter, Cal had a definite 'home game' as well, against Miami. (Also, what kind of Gator fan openly cheers for FSU? Wait, I can answer my own question - the kind that lost out on Nat'l Championship tickets and is settling.) For the most part, bowl games are traditionally located in a 'vacation spot' so the fans can make a big trip of it. I don't see why this can't work with the right place outside of the Sunbelt (many interesting things to see and do in New York City, for instance) but the only ones I can think of are the Motor City Bowl in Detroit, the International Bowl in Toronto, and the Humanitarian Bowl in Idaho. And to be honest Detroit and Idaho are not on my list of &quot:wink2:laces I want to go on vacation".

Come to think of it, why doesn't NYC have a "Big Apple Bowl" or something? It makes more sense than shoehorning a football field inside of the Trop.

**Note - For what it's worth, one of the three northern bowls had a southern team playing a 'home' northern team, and Florida Atlantic beat Central Michigan. Then again, they were FAU and Central Michigan, and the Lions have undoubtedly created some sort of vortex of antitalent which drains and destroys the natural football talents of everyone in the state.**

Well, Datish did cross the goal line first on that play. :tongue2:

It's a complete joke. Last year the Championship game in New Orleans, and this year's in Miami. It's a fucking home game. It a JOKE!!! No wonder everyone thinks that SEC is numero uno majority of the time. They don't play quality ooc games, and when they do (which is usually a bowl game) it's still a home game.

Bielema is bush league all the way around.

-His players are more interested in trash talking than anything else.
-He went out of his way to try and get a key player's suspension lifted to make the road trip to C-bus in 2007(the player wasn't allowed to leave the state as condition of his parole for beating a woman).
-BB also went on record saying that he didn't believe in night road games in the B10 and he won't allow Wisky to play in one(of course hosting them is another story, he isn't as concerned with that appearently).

Many many other things I don't like about him or that trash they call a fan base. I'm glad they got waxed.

His team played it's two toughest road games at home at 8 pm in consecutive weeks (OSU, PSU). He would have thrown a fit if those were road games.

He's on record as saying he won't allow it, forget throwing a fit. (IIRC both coaches have to agree with the networks request to schedule a night game.) I wish I had saved the link to the article but the best part was that he tried to use some line about how unfair it was to the student athletes.

He's a pos.

New York, Chicago, Columbus, Pittsburg and DC for starters. If the NFL can play football in Green Bay, Wisconsin in December, you can sure as hell put some bowl games in the north and at least one of the four rotating NC sites should be in Chicago.

He did play Fresno at night, on the road.

I guarantee you that you put a bowl game in Wrigley Field ("Wrigley Bowl") in late December, with a Big Ten tie-in, and you will sell every seat in the place.

Also alumni and students can have a hell of a lot better time in Chicago than they can in virtually any warm weather bowl site not named Los Angeles. Name me one single southern city that offers what Chicago does: top 3 restaurant city, top 2 for cultural institutions, probably the best bar city in the country, top 3 or 4 for shopping.
