Losing Ted Ginn after he had returned the opening kickoff for a TD in the 2007 BCS National Championship game would rank up there. One and out for Sermon, maybe the biggest what if in Buckeye Championship history.
Whatever happened to @Gcashwell? He was the quality Bama poster who showed up in the lead up to the 2015 Sugar Bowl and has popped in from time to time since. I don't think we saw him once since this game was set. These guys are the kind of fans from other schools that are really an asset to the board ( plus it's entertaining when @Nutriaitch @BigWoof31 and @Gatorubet start smack talking about their teams on a Buckeye board ) I hope @Jim Hunter sticks around. It's great to have quality conversation with fans of other teams!@Jim Hunter Thanks for coming on the site and jumping into the discussions. We seem to always get a poster from a rival NC team after every blow-out loss who comes back and kinda joins the community. Would be great to have somebody who can chime in with the Crimson Tide slant. Hope you can make it back.
Yet we still couldn't stop the run... I knew after 7 to 7 this was a long night.
They moved the ball methodically and easily. For us it took 1 foot taps and 1 handed grabs to even get in position to score.
It was just easy for them and harder for us. We could all see it early I would guess.
My point is that it is a lot easier to cover the swing passes with a nickle than our LBs. Which Sark dialed up and abused our LBs in coverage all night.
Edit - they finished with 157 yards rushing at that included the end of the game where they ran it down to milk the clock. We did okay against the run, but fuck they didn't run it because we were giving them easy pitch and catches with our personnel and coverages.
I agree with all of this...
You saw the happiness after the Clemson game and part of me wonders if that was the end of our season. We just seemed satisfied after that... shit I know I was. Still am frankly...
The only thing at this point I'm saddened by is we didnt keep it close. Who knows what kind of harm this does to us in the future. I know what 2006 and 2007 did to the program and I hope this doesn't set us back.
Edited... not shitting on this years team.
he’s a day 2 slot corner... those are in demand... he’ll still go in the first 3 rounds based on ‘19s film playing slot and shutting it down... any hopes of being a first rounder a legit corner are gone after this yearWouldn't be surprised if Wade stays. Hurt or not, he lost considerable money the last couple games.
He really should go. I don’t see any benefit to him coming back and playing in Coombs defense. Definitely a slot or 5th DB.Wouldn't be surprised if Wade stays. Hurt or not, he lost considerable money the last couple games.
The LB on the Heisman Trophy-winning WR with over 100 Recs and 1000+ yards was brilliant.I had a dream that Bama receivers are still running wide open against a 4-4 scheme that Coombs deployed......
To be quite frank, my soul is getting a bit weary of being cleansed every year. I know there were mitigating circumstances this year, but it's still an odd place to be as a program to be so successful and yet at the same time routinely take ass kickings like we do.Woody said:There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you.
