CFP Title Game, Alabama vs tOSU, Jan 11, 8:15 ET on ESPN, Miami

Remember that time the Buckeyes were down 35-17, at the half, in the National Title game & came back to win 38-35... 8D

I appreciate your optimism, but...

The offense wasn't great but the defense was only slightly better than air because of the fumble play so... no

Biggest? You mean letting Alabama accumulate 35 points and almost 400 yards of offense isn't the biggest issue this half?

Offense has excuses. Fields cracked rib/bruised kidney and our the stud RB we've centered the offense around going out on the first play with a fractured collarbone. Defense has no excuses for giving up 389.

No. Defense is absolutely the biggest issue. Offense just needs to execute. Fields looked bad last 3 posessions

Defense ceiling is slightly above average at best. Offensive ceiling is top three in the country. We scored 17 points and one drive was 19 yards. 12 minutes TOP and 3 (or more?) three and outs play a part in the 35 points given up.

Not defending the defense, but the reason we aren't in a competitive game lies more with the offense IMO.

This is just a bad year for the defense. You can't lose Chase Young, 2 first round CB's and a stud S and just reload. We just don't have the horses on that side of the ball this year. This is the first season in nearly a decade that tOSU hasn't had a game changing DE. I don't know if it's Coombs scheme or if we just can't keep up this year.

I think the misses at CB a few cycles ago are also hurting
