The most cathartic win of my life imo is very easily The Game 2002. Idk. There isn't anything within sight of that one
Yeah, the fact that it was treated as a true David vs Goliath still makes that the top one.Fiesta Bowl, Miami 2002. I actually called my parents weeping like a little child. The first championship of any Buckeye team while I was both alive and old enough to see it. You never forget your first.

As far as cathartic wins, I'd rank them:
1. 2002 Cryami
2. 2002 scUM
3. 2014 Alabama
4. 2020 Clemson
5. 2018 scUM
To me that ranks up there with magical/suspenseful wins, but it wasn't really cathartic. It was still just Purdue, and a mediocre edition at that. It was too early to know things had truly changed until 2002 scUM. 2001 was a glorious surprise, but it could be written off as catching them underestimating us. With everything on the line for the 2002 game I was preparing for another heartbreak, especially with a hobbled MoC. That win exorcised the demons of the 90s. But I can respect why you'd rank it up thereHoly Buckeye needs a mention here if we are talking about cathartic wins
that magic bastard made a lot of us feel like it was ok to live again, that good things could happen to us.
It had been a lonnnnnnggggggg time
