Central Ohio Furnace Repair

try fixing it yourself... most furnace repairs aren't too complex and it's obviously cheaper to just buy the part yourself (or off a repair truck) and install it... saving you oodles in labor.

What is it your furnace is or isn't doing?

Perhaps you don't know me as well as I thought. I don't do manual labor. I pay people to do my bidding.

Rather loud intermittent vibrating/humming noise coming from the furnace, emanating through all of the vents. Just started very early this morning. Will stop for short periods of time, but not for long. Noise ceases when furnace is shut off.

We're thinking maybe a fan is out of whack in there somewhere, but I'm not interested in playing with things that can blow me up.

Sounds like your fan motor is about to burn out or may already have. I just had the same issuue at Christmas. The cost to fix it will depend on what size motor you have in there. We had a 1/2hp motor put in and I think the total was about $450. The part was about 250 with a couple hours labor or so. We used Buckeye Heating and Cooling from Powell. The guy was very cool and honest. If that is the problem, your fan will probably quit working in the next day or two.

plus if you have it worked on and you end up with a puffback, you should get the 20k or whatever it is in damages off of his insurance not yours...

Once had a cat go missing for two days and finally figured out that it was the noise in my furnace. It made noises just as you described up until it died and got stuck in the fan motor.
