If this ride would have been at Cedar Point, kid probably could have been able to get out of the way. Guess SEC speed applies to rollar coasters as well.

Maybe SEC speed is a myth because he was in Georgia and couldn't get out of the way? Surely an SEC person would be able to get out of the way of a roller coaster.

No.. SEC speed is no myth. I forgot for a second.

I live in Atlanta and had some friends that were at this park yesterday when this happened. Six Flags shut down the ride, and my friends didn't know exactly what happened.

Come to find out someone lost their head.

edit: This Batman ride is fun as hell!

I'm sure they are going to put barbed wire all around rides now. Somehow there will be a lawsuit. And it will be settled. Some lawyer will argue that multiple signs, multiple fences, and common sense were not enough in this case. There will probably be lawsuits for those who were on the ride when it happened. Especially in the first car. I wonder if they saw the kid before they hit him. That could be tramatic, and they at least weren't the ones ignoring common sense amoung other things.

Authorities were investigating reports from witnesses who said the teenager jumped the fences to retrieve a hat he lost while riding the Batman roller coaster, said Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce. :shake:
