CBF40's look at '12 recruiting (BP's prediction thread)

When a player of Taylor Decker's caliber is #21 in Ohio, you've got a stacked deck in-state. He's top-10 in any "normal" year.

I think "wow" is all that can be said

How Bam Bradley STILL doesn't have an offer is beyond me.

Ball is WAY too low...he is a top 5 player in Ohio bare minimum imo. McMullen at 2 is questionable too...great player but I would swap Ball and McMullen. Well...yeah might as well make my top 16:

1. DE Adolphus Washington: Guy is off the charts athletically
2. RB Warren Ball: Well rounded back that can be as bruising as he is electric
3. OL Kyle Kalis: Flat out dominant and nasty...prototype RT
4. DE Chris Wormley: Excels in both defending the run and pass. Cam Heyward comes to mind.
5. DE Greg McMullen: All around great player on the line who has been constantly improving his game since bursting on the scene a long while ago.
6. WR Dwayne Stanford: Absolute freak who I want in this class bad.
7. RB Brionte Dunn: Great frame and endurance. I could see Dunn at LB with his skill set.
8. LB Kaleb Ringer: All over the field...game reminds me of former Iowa LB Abdul Hodges. Can't see us passing here.
9. S/LB Bam Bradley: Would love to see an offer here. Smart, with the athletic ability of a safety but mindset of a LB. Reminds me strongly of Hines, but with a defensive specialty already established.
10. DE LaTroy Lewis: Again, another guy with great upside and can get after the QB.
11. DE Ifeadi Odenigbo: The All-Name team awaits. So does the most intriguing prospect title in my mind so far, this guy just has all the potential in the world.
12. OL Taylor Decker: He obviously has the frame but I do like his aggressiveness too. He is a bit raw but he is a great prospect.
13. DE Sevon Pittman: Wow, he is this low? Yeah...this class is special
14. ATH Josh Perry: I was really impressed with his film. Guy can do a lot of things...if he finds the right position, he will do good things here.
15. DB Allen Gant: Great range and athleticism. Another guy I would hate to see get passed up
16. OL Jacoby Boren: Nasty and possibly still growing. Gets under the defender in a hurry. Love this addition.

The best part of Ohio being absolutely loaded this year is that I literally think every player on that list minus Wormley would be a Buckeye if offered. If we offer Decker it might be a fight with Notre Dame, but I believe OSU would win out with him as well.

Absolutely sick. Wish we could take 25 this year. Hope (and think) that we can land a bunch of instate guys early, then focus all of our attention on the national scene, most specifically Florida.

This is what I would like to see in this class:

QB: Jones
RB: Ball, Dunn, (maybe Shell)
FB: Not needed
WR: Stanford, Montgomery
TE: McNamara
OL: Kalis, Boren, Pirsig, Diamond, Humphries
DE: Washington, McMullen, Wormley, Pittman, Odenigbo
DT: Schutt
LB: Perry, Rippy
CB: Howard
S: Bradley

Perhaps a little large considering the numbers, but this is the ideal class that I came up with, give or take a few. If the real thing can get anywhere near this class, look out. The scary thing about it is, it's actually doable.

I would include Gant with Wormley to Michigan. Gant is related to Charles Woodson, who happens to like Hoke.

Shell is not happening, imo. Doesn't make any sense. Really just wishful thinking by fans here. Also, only two in the secondary and five DE's isn't practical. I see Wormly going north and I see at least one Glenville DB in this class. Also, with a small class, seeing as we took two TE's in '11 I don't think we take one this year.
