Why doesn’t that feel like good news ?
To me it reads like he's regretting the news going out so publicly and already defending leaving by saying they're "Buckeye Nation 4 life".

Edit: I'm open to other readings if someone thinks differently. I just don't see the regret of using ESPN and need to say they're Buckeyes if he's coming back. He's bracing for the backlash. Hope I'm wrong.

I see your point. Maybe he’s talking about how trash ESPN is and that’s how all of Buckeye Nation feels.

Maybe he agrees that ESPN is an enemy of Buckeye Nation, and feels bad for driving traffic there.
