CB Nate Clements (All B1G, NFL Pro Bowl)

Fox Sports had their 50 greatest hits ever

show, two former OSU DBs made the list.(for hits made in the pros)

Tatum was there with two hits. The one where he and Earl Campbell knocked each other out. The other where he nearly decapitated the Vikings WR.

Clements was higher than both for a hit he put on Tom Brady

Note that this list was for all sports (including Hockey, Baseball, etc...) except for boxing. One of the classics in the top five was a Randy Johnson Fastball hitting a bird in mid flight. Absolutely amazing.

Clements intends to test free agency

JOHN WAWROW

Associated Press

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Cornerback Nate Clements, a key to the Bills' defense, plans to test free agency next month.
His agent, Todd France, told The Associated Press on Thursday it's in his client's best interest to pursue free agency once the period opens March 2. France added that Clements is open to re-signing with the Bills if the team makes a competitive offer.

Titans on the lookout for top-notch corner

If the Tennessee Titans were going to make a splash in the free-agent market for a cornerback, the number of quality available players was reduced by one when the New England Patriots placed the franchise tag on Asante Samuel on Friday.

Samuel had 10 interceptions for the Patriots this season, and along with Buffalo?s Nate Clements, was generally regarded as the top free-agent cornerback available in unrestricted free agency, which begins March 2.

There has been plenty of speculation that the Titans might make a play for a free agent cornerback to pair opposite Adam ?Pacman? Jones. There apparently, however, are at least some in the Titans organization who believe Clements could be superior to Samuel in terms of what the Titans do.

Look for the Browns to get Clements in free agency.... but they'll overpay for him.

Then they overpay. That's the trend in sports right now anyway. We need more talent out there, especially in the Secondary and OL. So overpay away. They have almost 30 million under the cap right now.

I tried to tell you guys...

I wish the Falcons had the money for Clements...

I wasn't around for Schaffer... but even reading the press of the time, he seemed like a mediocre player. He can contribute, but it's not worth overpaying for mediocre players -- if you're gonna overpay, do it for the best.
