CB James Scott (official thread)

This article breaks down all the top CBs in the country, including names like Ronald Johnson, Dionte Allen, Donovan Warren, Gary Gray (he still does not impress me)

I'm with you. Gray is a good prospect but how he is being mentioned with Allen, Berry, RoJo, Warren, and Scott I don't know. I would take all 5 of those over Gray in a heartbeat.

James is up there with Barksdale and O'Dowd as far as kids I would most like to see be a part of this class. James is not kidding when he says he thinks of himself as a physical corner. In his film, he is about as physical as any high school corner I have ever seen.

I agree 100%. In my book, Scott is a 5 star player and is the most physical CB I have seen this year.

James talks about his friendship with Nate Oliver and his interest in tOSU.

What I also like is that he said he will be visiting for either the Michigan or PSU games. Seeing the night atmoshpere with 105,000+ in attendance could give a clear cut inside track. Stakes will be high for us as we could be the top team in the nation - knock on wood.

Looking at the list of schools he has been offered by, I would really like to get this kid.

The hard part is convincing his parents. Its not like other Daytona Beach natives haven't carved out a good life here in Columbus, because I surely have. They just struggle with the idea of him being so far away, knowing that we play most of bowl games in Arizona, not Orlando.

Watched the film again and I couldn't help but think I saw it at a different place...

So I went back through my sunshine film and found the match:

Kurt Coleman. Anyone remember the Zero Angle demonstration? James has the same Zero Angle point of attack.

Sorry if someone already drew the comparison.

EDIT: Ah, so they have. Oh well. It bears repeating, anyhow. :)

I don't know about his converage skills, as I am not one to evaluate film like you other guys, but does anybody see a resemblence to Mike Doss or Donte Whitner? If Clifford becomes a WR, Scott and Oliver would be very nice at the Safety spots. Especially is we can bring in Torrence and Cuff at CB, along with another top end guy like Warren or Allen.

Not to get too far off topic, but I would switch Torrence and Scott. I think Scott could be a great lockdown corner, and Torrence could be a ballhawking safety.
