CB Eli Apple (All B1G, National Champion, Los Angeles Chargers)

What the fuck, Atlanta...

Falcons Apologize For Asking Combine Prospect If He Likes Men

This morning Ohio State CB Eli Apple, who’s projected to go mid-first round in next month’s draft, appeared on Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia and revealed the strangest question he’d been asked at the NFL scouting combine. Turns out, the strangest question he got was also the first.

“The Falcons coach, one of the coaches, was like, ‘So do you like men?’ It was like the first thing he asked me. It was weird. I was just like, ‘no.’ He was like, ‘if you’re going to come to Atlanta, sometimes that’s how it is around here, you’re going to have to get used to it.’ I guess he was joking but they just ask most of these questions to see how you’re going to react.”

Should be a fireable offense. In any other professional interview it would be considering it's grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. I'm probably one of the least PC people you'll ever meet but this is garbage.

Most states, including Ohio and Georgia, don't have workplace protections for LGBT people.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The job interview is going well. The manager is impressed with your credentials and experience. You are answering all the questions with aplomb.

Then the issue of your sexual orientation comes up.

The manager informs you: "I am not giving you this job because you are gay!"

Most would agree such a statement is outrageous. However, in Ohio it is also legal. The state has no law preventing discrimination against members of the LGBT community in employment, housing and public accommodations.

Last week's U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage left many to incorrectly assume the LGBT community had now won all of its major civil rights battles.

"It is correct for somebody to say that you can lose your job on the basis of being gay, and not being protected in the state of Ohio," said G. Michael Payton, executive director of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, or OCRC. "For federal law as well, there are no such protections."

I'm pretty sure this is what people call a shit test... and a rather crude one. Also one that could land the Falcons in hot water if somebody with EO were to get involved.
Might need a term for lawyers that chase SJW causes to go with "ambulance chaser" ?
