Eli Apple took a lot of heat about his performance during the Michigan State game and there have been a lot of comments about his performance regressing this year.
Let's just place on record that he had an excellent game
Should wait a year...
Agreed, he is the guy that has the most to gain in coming back next year. He most likely jumps up a couple rounds if he comes back. He is somewhere between rounds 3-4 at best imo.
Agree. Always felt like he was eyeing this as a business decision as he should and was looking to bolt. Only saving grace will be if the risk/reward evaluation tells the family it makes sense to return and shoot for a first/early 2nd round draft in '17.IMHO, he's gone.
His folks have been pretty vocal about the "risk/reward" aspect of college sports; I'd be surprised if he didn't choose to go and get more financially based rewards for his investment and risk.
Just ask Buchtel grad Antonio Pittman who surprisingly declared early. Lasted all but one year and IMO it was just because he wasn't ready yet. Got drafted in what the 4th round? Then got cut and never could gain his footing from there... once you get cut in the NFL imo ur basically done more often than not or otherwise someone would've locked you up for years.I'm not sure the family is hurting for money. I'm sure he wants to get paid for his talents, but getting to the NFL is the easy part. Staying in the NFL should be the real goal. It would serve him better to return for another year, but I would understand if he left.
