Few players on the roster have faced more misfortune than Evege, who missed most of last season with a dislocated elbow suffered in week three against Ohio University.

Although he was a key special teams contributor before the injury, Evege was not expected to seriously compete for a starting cornerback this season. Despite the fact the Buckeyes must replace seniors Chimdi Chekwa and Devon Torrence, Evege had been primarily repping with the third-team defense this spring before the knee injury he suffered in practice.
