I see your point with the degree though. If he doesn't have that then he should make sure to do that.

I don't think he will last too long in the NFL.

I agree with this. CBs rarely improve in the background in the NFL. It's either get playing time off the bat or be good enough to get the backup spot to get jump in when someone gets injured. Going to the NFL to be a special teamer or practice squad player, will just result in a short career.

He should come back and hope he can improve with whatever coaching and scheme changes may happen.

You know what? As far as I know this kid was a Buckeye through and through. Maybe he wasn’t the best at his position and didn’t live up to recent standards on the field but he represented this university and was a solid citizen off the field. So those of you with the sarcasm and bullshit comments (I’m looking directly at you 001) can piss off and keep those thoughts out of his thread.

You're right... Arnette has been a good representative of tOSU and although his play didn't always come through Damon did the best he could.

I think Damon has reached his max potential and he should just go get paid. I think he needs to get his degree though because football isn't forever.

He'll have the option to come back and get his degree whenever he wants. He does not have the option to pick up an NFL paycheck beyond his window, or if seriously injured.

If his report card came back suggesting he's got a shot and the window is open, he needs to go.

Yeah I understand that kind of thought. I would think having the free education completely paid for and then going to the NFL would make the more financial sense. I don't think he would hurt his stock if he came back that's for sure. So in my eyes he could lock up his degree with it being fully paid for, possibly improve his stock, and then go to the NFL.

Unfortunately the past 3 years of play isn't going to land him very much. So hopefully he can go in to a camp and perform well. My fear is he won't and then he will be cut. So then he has no degree, has to pay for the final few semesters to achieve it, and is out of the league.

In my opinion he is selling his stock at its All Time Low ( literally a record-setting defense in a bad way) and next year when we improve and we will dramatically he could really benefit from the units overall performance.

So I understand his thinking no doubt but the more I think on it why would anybody leave a defense that just went through its Worst season ever?
