CB Bradley Roby (2x All B1G)

A solid sternum punch if the guy's not wearing too many layers can be effective.

Our leading scorer caught an elbow in the chest a couple of weeks ago at Myrtle Beach. He came up to defend a player and the opposing player came up to sweep the ball and popped him right in the middle of his chest with the elbow. Our player wasn't the same for the rest of the weekend. Bruised sternum.

Ohio State football: Roby's status in limbo
By Tim May
The Columbus Dispatch Tuesday July 30, 2013

Ohio State junior cornerback Bradley Roby?s status remains in question in the wake of him being arrested and charged with an A-misdemeanor battery for an incident that occurred in a bar in Bloomington, Ind., in the early hours of July 22. He spent the night in jail before being released after posting a $500 bond on July 22.

According to the police report, he was escorted out of the bar after some kind of altercation, tried to return contact friends who were still inside, was stopped by bar security personnel, allegedly punched one of the bouncers in the chest ?causing a complaint of pain,? according to the report, and promptly was subdued while police were called.

According to court records from Monroe (Ind.) County, Roby has a pre-trial conference scheduled for Aug.26, just five days before the Buckeyes? season opener against Buffalo.

Whether video will aid his cause remains to be seen. According to the court records, his attorney Phyllis J. Emerick, based in Bloomington, has asked that ?audio and/or video recording? from the bar be produced as possible evidence.

Insiders on the OSU football team who saw Roby after he returned to Columbus told The Dispatch he looked like he had been roughed up. There was no speculation in regards to who did the roughing.

Been there. I cracked mine running into an elbow in a rugby match in Memphis in 2009. Still have a knot about the size of a grape where it eventually "healed".

Except we have his mug shot not looking roughed up. Plus being tackled/subdued to the ground will rough anyone up.

Sometimes bruising and scratches look way worse the following days. Its like when you run into the side of a table or something and the next day your entire side is black and blue. Im no medical expert but I could see this being a normal occurrence and reaction to a fight.

That's actually my point. The implication was that the scuffle was a little more involved than has been reported so far...not that the cops beat him up.

I can't tell you the number of times i would wake up with bruises on my upper arms that exactly matched the handprints of guys who struggled to try & break my grip as I was removing them from the bar the night before.

Sounds to me like Roby pushed the guy, who punches someone in the chest?
