CB Ashton Youboty (CB Coach Purdue)

Well the catch is that big physical corners are few and far between and teams with the late picks who have won the super bowl or maybe were in the championships games can afford to take a chance.

If he goes he would leave, I would say early to mid 2nd round, with a slight chance to go in the first(27-32)

I hope he talks to right people as to where he would be drafted. Some Bullshit agents will tell kids what they want to here. John Cooper has done some scouting for the the Bengals in the past, I wonder if he could give Youboty an honest assessment as to what round is likely?

How much does Youboty's decision influence Wallace?

Being big and physical means shit if you can't cover anyone. That may sound harsh to Youboty, but it's common knowledge that his coverage skills have suffered noticeably over the last part of the season.

I tend to agree with everyone and feel that Youboty could use another year to refine his skills. Unlike Whitner, who I believe played nearly perfect this season, Youboty struggled against the tall receivers and fade routes, and has specific aspects of his game that he can work to improve.

Granted, Youboty is a solid, solid player, and I have no business critiquing him. Come back Youboty, we love you.

What is the track record of rumors in the rumor mill? I bet less than 50% pan out.

I would be shocked if he went. Not just because i don't think he is a 1st rounder right now, but because he can move up significantly with another year. Unlike Whitner for instance whose position makes it much more difficult to be selected in round 1.

what's the track record of not having a rumor mill and throwing every rumor out to the public without a disclaimer?

I think you took my post the wrong way...I'm not saying the rumor mill is not a good idea, because i think it is a great way to split out these discussions, but my point is that a lot of rumors in here turn out to be just that, and just because it is in here doesn't mean it is turns out to be true.

Fair enough. From what I've read on the BN $ board, this isn't just idle speculation. He may stay, but he seems to be thinking about it.

most of the predraft rankings already incorporate juniors like youboty and hester. if youboty comes out, barring a dominant combine, he will be a 3rd round pick at best.

I know that, but I am sure a lot of them feel that he will stay in college so he is not a big priority.

I am not agreeing with Youbouty going, but I am just saying that if he does there will be a team take a chance on him.

Well Marlin Jackson wasnt the greatest cover corner either, but he got drafted in the first round by the Colts, who wanted a big corner that they thought they could mold.

Jackson was a senior, not a junior, when he was drafted, and was an over-hyped All American.

They don't rank the CBs on whether or not they'll probably declare, but rather on their potential. Youboty won't move up solely because he declared...
