Not a whole lot of talking going on right now but here is what I see happening with the front office of the Cavs. They know they are not good enough to compete now for a title, obviously(no superstar, need at least one to compete). So they need to find young players with potential to get better, they need to acquire draft picks(to pick more young players or used in trades to get better players), and they need to avoid over-paying for mediocre players.
So as I see it the front office needs to focus on signing and trading Shaq for something, draft pick, young player with potential, you take what you can get. Then you need to do the same with Delonte because its apparent they aren't keeping him around.
Then its the waiting game, if you can find a good deal for Mo, Jamison, or Andy go ahead and do it now or you can hope that their value may increase closer to the trade deadline when a team might need a piece. To me everyone on the roster is available for the right deal even JJ but he is the closest thing to not being touchable.
So with a plan of attack like this its basically rebuilding mode but you have to remember that after this season there could and most likely will be a lockout which could change the whole landscape of the NBA. Depending on how things shakeout maybe the Cavs can swing a crazy deal at the deadline this year with the trade exception and expiring deals to get a true star or they end not ever using it and having a ton of cap space, plus with the uncertainty of how the new cap rules will be this is the most likely scenario I see them heading down.
edit- BTW I'm really happy the front office hasn't made a move to just make a move and try to appease the fan base. They were somewhat blindsided by the Lebron decision and its going to take a little bit to formulate a plan going forward and seeing what trades and moves are out there before being able to move forward.
