Agreed.

Its official per agent through Windhorst. Z wants to finish career in Cleveland, however. Will return one day.

Looks like I lost a neighbor from down the street...hope he does well. At least for himself.

Yeah, was always fun being able to see him walking that huge dog of his. From a distance it looked like a normal size guy walking his dog, that is how huge that dog was.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas says decision was tough, but he will join LeBron James with the Miami Heat | cleveland.com

"It was a tough decision for me; very emotional," Ilgauskas told The Plain Dealer. "I spent 14 years of my life here. I came in as a young boy and grew up to be a man. Cleveland had a lot to do with that."....

"I don't have to tell you how much I love Cleveland," Ilgauskas said. "I know I'm from Lithuania, but Cleveland will always be my home. I love the people of Cleveland. But at some point in life, life changes and you have to move on. I'm not going anywhere. I'll be back in the summer. I'm just changing my workplace.

"I've been a loyal soldier for 14 years. I just feel it's time for me to go and chase my dream of winning a ring. If I'm fortunate enough to do that, a lot of me will thank Cleveland for it."

THAT is how you leave graciously...

the point was if they're going to win a title in cleveland before lebron, why would Z leave and go to miami...

:mummy:

I didn't realize Miami was running a "sign a 2 year deal, get a free championship ring" promotion...

cavs interested in marvin williams

NBA.com: Enticed by Williams, Cavs turn to Shaq

The Cavaliers' interest in the 24-year-old Williams, first reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, would make sense. The Cavs' new general manager, Chris Grant, was working as the Hawks' assistant GM when Atlanta took Williams with the second pick overall in the 2005 Draft, opting to take him over point guards Deron Williams (who went third to Utah) and Chris Paul (fourth to New Orleans). Williams started 81 games for the Hawks last season, averaging 10 points per game.
It would also be in line with new coach Byron Scott's desire to have a more up-tempo attack next season with James departed to Miami. Scott has already indicated that J.J. Hickson will be the full-time starter at power forward next season, and said during Tuesday's NBA TV Las Vegas Summer League game between the Cavaliers and the D-League Select Team that he is contemplating bringing veteran forward Antawn Jamison off the bench.

article on byron scott

Byron Scott already making changes to LeBron-less Cavaliers - Chris Mannix - SI.com

The defection of LeBron James and the fractured community left in his wake would suggest it to be true. But Scott doesn't see it that way. In 2000, Scott took over a Nets team that had won 31 games the previous season. In his first season on the job, New Jersey won 26. That job, Scott says, was more difficult than this one.
"We're in better shape than we were in New Jersey," Scott said. "A lot of these guys [in Cleveland] are used to winning. When I took over in Jersey, they weren't used to winning. We had to change the whole culture of that team and organization. That attitude is already in place here. That's not something I have to change. I just have to enhance that and keep it going."

Williams could probably get up to 20 ppg in Scott's offense. Hard to say. He is athletic, has good size, and would fit the scheme. He is probably a bargain too for a 2nd pick.

2nd rounder would be nice...cant believe the jazz got jefferson for what they did...wish we could of gotten that deal

Would the Hawks make that deal for Shaq and nothing else besides cash and picks? The Hawks may be of the same mindset as the Cavs last year that all they need is someone that can cover Howard to put them over the top. As long as the Cavs don't give up JJ, Andy, or Eyenga I would do any deal.
