Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

This could get interesting, the Suns are going to move STAT unless they can workout some sort of extension and apparently they are more than few millions apart.

I like the idea of getting Jamison without giving up JJ, but will they buyout Z? Jamison definitely can help the Cavs out this year and next but the reason I prefered STAT was that he could help the Cavs out for awhile. If you can get it done without giving up JJ then do it.

Edit: I would like to add that I don't think the Cavs will pull the trigger till around the deadline on Thursday. Plus, I wonder if they are going to try to use Wally to pick up any backcourt insurance incase they lose Delonte for a long period of time because of his legal issues.

Edit 2: Another thing that just popped in my head, I think Ferry likes STAT the most out of any of our options, and he knows that it almost guarantees LBJ will be back. I think the surface of rumors for Jamison albeit probably have a lot of truth but may be a move by Ferry to put some pressure on the Suns to make a move.

If you can get Jamison without giving up JJ you do it. Jawad's emergence has helped to make Moon more expendable because he can spend some minutes on a team's taller wing in addition to Anthony Parker.

I love Z but Jamison would give you that outside shooting which is basically what Z is reduced to now. Hopefully we could get him in a buyback and not have to hope that Powe comes back to give us some good minutes with a bigger body.

i agree if this is the offer i think this makes the most sense for the cavs and is the best fit...but like u said and what ive worried...do the wizards buyout Z now especially since they got rid of haywood? you would think they would since they are looking for the cap relief but its something im worried about...as much as i love Z for everything hes done, this is a business and as much as the cavs have been screwed over the years its our turn to get the better end of the deal...which ferry has done a great job of so far as a GM...so if we have to win a championship without Z on our roster i do it in a heartbeat...Cavs bottom line are in a great position where we can sit back and not be completely desperate to get a deal done

The only bad move would be to overpay trying to make a move. The Cavs have the best record in the league and have swept (so far) the two teams that stood between them and winning it all last year. Ferry can afford to be picky and call bluffs.

I actually wouldn't hate it if Miami got Amare because that would take them and Wade out of any discussion this summer. It also wouldn't make them a threat to win the East. I'm not very worried about the NY teams getting Lebron, but Miami would be a decent option unless they lock up their salary cap now.

I have major concerns about bring in a guy in Amare that has been a major distraction from his team for so long. PHX has been trying to unload him for years now. That tells me he is not right between the ears. I think bringing him in might start to tear at a good locker room environment. Why mess with a good thing? Jamison would be a better add from that standpoint. I understand keeping LeBron is paramount, and bring in another huge name in their prime to play with him would all but seal the deal, but lets not set the city on fire in an attempt to do so.

Gawd, can't believe I have forgotten to check in on this thread. Some great points brought up.

But for some reason a strange idea has crept in my mind. When debating between Amare & Jamison... why can't we do both? Let's be crazy!!!

Z & Hickson goes to PHX and then we sign and trade Wally & Moon or whoever to Washington for Jamison? Or maybe Wally & Hickson to PHX and Z to Washington...

I know... I am crazy... but crazy enough it might work :atom:

Nate Robinson to the Celtics for perhaps Eddie House.

Could you imagine this guy and KG together? Don't forget to look at the final score.

Brian Windhorst talks about the latest Cavaliers trade rumors - Podcast | cleveland.com

check out windhorsts chat from today...brings up alot of good points...looks like amare is still the #1 choice

Among the other topics discussed:

? Are there still any names we haven't heard yet?
? At what point do the Cavaliers move on to Antawn Jamison if they don't get an answer from Phoenix?
? Could tomorrow night's game against Denver be an NBA Finals preview?
