Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

Well there it is- Lets trade Lebron James.
Yeah, in a new low, e!spn treats us to Chris Rock's (yes, that Chris Rock) brilliant analysis on what the Cavs should do with LeBron James. Can you please just cover the damn game? I mean really. This is an insult to actual basketball fans.

I'd like to see what you guys would be like if the Cavs won a game ....oh wait. :yow1::slappy:
It's the Knicks. It's gonna be a win. But, blowing their doors off for 40 minutes and then letting arguably the worst team in the NBA make a game of it at the end is not good.

This team is a shell of what they were last year. Letting the Knicks back in this game is pathetic beyond words.

I remember them blowing some leads last year. Remember having big halftime leads and giving it all back in the 3rd? I have some issues with coaching right now, but this team has the pieces to be better than last year once everyone gets comfortable with everyone else. I like Andy coming off the bench, but I would rather have Mo, West, Parker, Lebron, and Shaq starting. Then they could bring Andy and Z off the bench halfway through the 1st quarter.

Yeah, I'm probably just a little pissy after the 2.5 hour assault on my ears. This team is gonna be a work in progress for the next few weeks. The coaching is my main concern. I just can't get past my fears of Mike Brown's feeble mind being horribly outcoached by Ron Jeremy. I think he's, by far, the biggest hinderance to this team winning a title.

Not only is it still early, but they just went on the road for the second in a back to back. They were bound to let down as the game went on.

Warriors anxious to part ways with Jackson - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers have had talks with the Warriors, but don?t want to part with center Zydrunas Ilgauskas(notes). Golden State, which doesn?t have a single player who weighs more than 250 pounds on its roster, would like a big man.

Why not trade Z? I know Lebron likes him, but he looks really old this year and has really been struggling. Jackson would give us another scorer from the wing with range to spread the floor for Lebron and Shaq and a tall one at that.

Z is shit in the playoffs.

Im sorry but its true.

Z for Jackson would be great for the Cavs.

besides the fact that cleveland is already guard heavy and very thin in the frontcourt. so yes, trade one of cleveland's 3 respectable big men for another guard.

if it were closer to the all star break and powe was fully healthy, then maybe you think about it. but as of now, no.

I think the main reason they don't want to trade Z is out of loyalty. At this point I don't think I'd want to leverage the future to win this season by trading JJ instead of Z. Z probably is the player they could most easily part with and be good this season and in the next several years. GS would have to send back another player making at least 1.6 mil to make a trade for Z work.
I think they also like having 2 7 footers. If they trade Z and something happens to Shaq Andy would be the only guy that could play center.

I'm kind of surprised at how many people seemingly want Stephen friggin Jackson. (well maybe it's not Jackson alone, maybe people are just itching to get better in any way). As someone who has able to see this guy up close on the court and in the community (his years with the Pacers), I wouldn't want him with the Cavs. His attitude is garbage, and he is not a winner. He is a six man at best who thinks he is a NBA star. He's a slightly better version of Larry Huges imo, and some nights he'll be worse than Hughes on defense. I don't think he would stretch the floor that much more than a Anthony Parker, he's a little bit taller but teams can guard Stephen Jackson with a small forward..it's not like he's going to bring a PF out to the three point line to give Bron more room..he can score a little more than a Parker but doesn't bring that much more.. but I digress :)

edit: my bias comes off clear. This may happen, and on the flipside it could work. Jackson has a good relationship with Mike Brown (SA, Ind) and could provide some help (i'd argue not that much) if he checked his ego at the door.

Can't wait for the game tonight though, I hope they play strong.

I'd be hesitant unless Mike Brown thinks that SJ would be what they need to put them over the top. One thing the Cavs would gain would be that they would go small more. My starting lineup would be Mo, Parker/West, Jackson, Lebron, and Shaq. One way or another the oposing PF would be covering someone he shouldn't be. They would then have Andy and JJ coming off the bench at around 6 minutes and move Lebron back to SF for the rest of the quarter.
The biggest problem is that they would be thin at PF/C until Powe gets heathy and if anything happens to Shaq they would be completely screwed against Orlando and the Lakers. I'd feel bad for Z being a Cav for his whole career and then get dumped right before they have a chance to win it all.
For GS I don't see how getting Z would help them. It would be like Shaq going to the Suns. That style of play is built for undersized athletic big men. Have GS give me a call when Jackson is such a cancer that they are willing to dump him for Jawad, Darnell, and Wally on a 6 mil non-guaranteed deal. :p
