Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

You get the feeling that the coach Calipari talk has a lot of substance. I sure hope not...I despise the guy.

I've read mixed reports. Wherever Lebron goes I'm sure he can pick the coach so if he wants Cal he'll get Cal. They might just be friends through their mutual agent and Wes. I think Lebron would be better off with someone other than Cal.

edit - Dan Gilbert (on TV) says there's been no coaching change, they're currently going through an evaluation process.
Christ almighty Gilbert, if you've been paying attention at all, there's no fucking need. He's been pantsed badly on national tv back-to-back years in the playoffs. :shake:

I swear to God, and I know it's unlikely, but if that baboon keeps his job, I'm done.

brown was pantsed by doc rivers in this series, and his own team blatantly defying him and quitting on him was the post pantsing wedgie. this press conference was just the precursor to the inevitable.

I know he should've been gone last year, but it's still a bit ironic that the man that's going to lose his job is pretty much the only one who did not quit against Boston.

Part of me is sad that his best is not good enough. He seems like a good man.

He is a good guy. And a good assistant coach. He is not, and never should have been, a head coach.

He's certainly a sleaze-ball, but he can't be any worse x's and o's wise than Potato Head. Casual fans could see what a disaster Antwan Jamison was in that series...I'm still not sure Mike Brown knows Garnett on Jamison is a mis-match and that Paul Pierce is old and not Kobe Bryant. It's ok to let Anthony Parker guard him, if it means shutting down Rondo with LeBron.

Sad.

Or bring in Moon on Pierce so Lebron can cover Rondo. A better coach would beat Boston with the Cavs roster.

The Cavs need somebody who can manage the team with the kind of authority necessary to put guys like Jamison or Mo Williams on the bench when they're facing a bad matchup or playing like ass. Mike Brown was not that guy, and I don't think Calipari is either. There are only a handful of guys who I can think of who command that kind of respect (Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, Gregg Popovich or possibly Coach K), and none of them are coming to Cleveland.

From the article I posted it looks like Brown is staying in Cleveland.

If Lebron does come back, it's going to take him a while to earn my respect back. His entitlement/spoiled kid mentality has gotten old. His biggest problem is that everyone has kissed his ass dating back to his high school days. I'd love to see a hard-nosed coach get in his ear every day. Not just some guy that he approves of. I don't know if Lebron would do well in LA or somewhere like that, because he wouldn't run the show out there. He wouldn't be the "coach".

Where was the fight in him? He looked like a deer in the headlights. When did you see him in everyones face in the third quarter? He is one of the most talented players to ever play, but he lacks the that nasty streak that all great competitors have when the going gets tough. At least that was the case in this series.
