Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

This run is nice and all, but all that's really changed during it is Boston missing shots they've been making. I still don't see anything adjusted or changed in terms of personnel, plays, or matchups. I'm glad they have until Friday to sort things out.

Normally I would agree with the first part of your post, but Mike Brown NEVER makes any adjustments.

Rondo killed us tonight all night long, and we did not try anything different all night long.

I don't think it takes a coach making adjustments for the players to realize they played with 0 intensity...

OK, I lied. The Reds fucking blow and I can't really stay away from this.

It's insane that I'm kinda pissed off by this comeback attempt. You don't deserve to be in the game at the end by playing just six minutes of championship-level basketball.

Missing those last two 3s killed the momentum.
Was thinking the same thing. It's actually frustrating to see how good they can be, yet refuse to be in the 1st halves. Nice comeback...jackasses.

Signed,

Hard to please Cleveland Fan. :)

It would have been nice to see them continue the run, but they didn't have enough time to win the game in any case. All Boston would have needed is two buckets to wrap it up.

This is the difference between the Cavaliers and the Lakers. Lebron scores under thirty, and they lose by twenty. Kobe scores under 30, and it's actually good for the team. That is about coaching, and finding ways to get the rest of the players involved. Coaching isn't the end all be all in the NBA (hell, look at the Celtics), but it is a great advantage to have when you do have it.

Whether it's Lebron the scorer, Lebron the facilitator, or Lebron the MVP who does both, they need him to be outstanding to win the championship. He really can't afford a night off when the "offense" runs through him for everything.

One of the more satisfying games I've seen in awhile. LeBron continues to show that lack of toughness that separates him from Kobe, Jordan, Shaq, etc...

uh...what? This is the first time i've ever seen him look completely lost in an important game. Kobe looks out of it and lost in probably 10x the number of games you see LBJ have. Everyone has a bad game, we'll see how he responds on Friday.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but tonight's display was the same kind of stuff I was bitching about when they played the Bulls. Good teams can make them pay for it in ways that a team like the Bulls could not. The Bulls only have one good player - Derrick Rose. The Celtics have four players at his level or better - and they're more experienced. Shit, if the Bulls had even one more good player to complement Rose they could've made that series more interesting.

Also, I'm going to pretend for a moment that playing Shaq and running the offense through him is about preparing him for Orlando and not about something even more asinine like thinking that he's the best matchup you have or because he needs a certain number of minutes to keep him happy. If it's really about getting him ready, then why isn't he on the floor trying to knock off the rust during garbage time? BTW, the whole "preparing him for Orlando" thing is an insult to a team like Boston, and at the rate the Cavs are going "preparing for Orlando" may as well refer to a golf outing to take place while the Celtics and Magic play in the conference finals.
