Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

I don't even know what to say about this game, but at least the Cavs pulled it out. Lebron is looking extremely gimpy with that elbow so hopefully 4 days of rest will be enough to get healthy for the Celtics.

No PT for Ilgauskas lately? Kind of disappointing...

He'll get plenty of PT against Orlando if we can get past Boston in teh next round. All of the bigs have a role in these playoffs...Z's will come when we rotate our BIG bigs to hack Howard and draw him away from the hoop in Z's case.

Boston isn;t going to be a breeze though. Look for Hickson to get even more minutes with Rasheed's penchant for outside shooting. Much better to have a mobile guy like J.J. vs. Shaq or Z who are slow footed.

The Lakers are also a good matchup for Z. He just needs to stay ready. I agree that we need to see more of JJ against the Celtics. They don't know what to do with him and Andy.

I wanted to add that I was pleased for the most part with the work rate last night. That was the only game I saw in this series where the Cavs matched or exceeded the Bulls' effort for all 48 minutes.

I loved the sequence where they kept feeding the ball to Shaq in the post and drawing fouls. I think they called a lot of cheap fouls down low (both ways) and it was nice to see the Cavs exploit it when the whistles were going their way.

I too hope that we see a lot more of Hickson vs. Boston. I think there's a lot he can contribute to this team, especially in the next series.

lebron with elbow strain and bone bruise...not expected to miss any games...windhorst says he will be fine unless he comes down on the elbow hard...some quotes from windhorsts twitter

LeBron should be fine unless he takes another direct hard hit. Based on history, I'm sure the Celtics will play cleanly and avoid it. 28 minutes ago via web

In technical terms it is a "bone bruise of his olecranon." In lay terms, it means he banged his elbow and it is sore. 44 minutes ago via web

straight from the source lebrons elbow says directly:

Home from the Clinic. Told me I'm bruised. I told them I was forged in the fires of Mordor so that is impossible. We're agreeing to disagree 19 minutes ago via web

I think there's a lid on the basket. A lot of close-range shots aren't falling. Celtics have been able to take advantage of some poor rotation by the Cavs. Z was the first big off the bench. I'd like to see more Hickson against this team.

I'm expecting a big 2nd after the Cavs cruise through the 1st. Just keep it close until then.

You're right about that lid, though.
