Cavs 09-10 Season (official thread)

I dont get to see Lebron that often (I get a shitton of Lakers/Clips and Warriors though :shake:) ... to see him do amazing things - like that ovehead cross-court assist to Parker just now - so casually... its just so fun to watch as a fan of basketball...

JJ has picked up some good habits from Andy. He gives a ton of effort going after rebounds and loose balls that he has seemed to learn to do this year. I think it could make you go mad trying to play the Cavs when both of those guys are in the game. Hopefully Andy will make it back Sunday.

Holy crap, that dunk and then block with about 1:00 left in the game vs the Hawks tonight by Lebron was insane. Regardless if the block was goal tending. A lot of people may hate Coach K and Duke, but I think he's helped instill some great team and defensive principles in the minds of the NBA's best players and it's really showing this year. I don't ever remember Bron playing defense like he has this year.

Coming into the night, the magic number for both the top seed in the east and overall was two (with Magic and Lakers). The Cavs win reduces the number to one. Orlando is down six with 6 mins. left and their loss would clinch the East for the Cavs. The Lakers play the Jazz tonight.

Maybe the Hawks might have a chance to beat the Cavs next time since all the starters will probably be on the bench. Look for a starting lineup of Boobie, West, Williams, Hickson, and Powe with Moon and Green on the bench.

Orlando falls to San Antonio, 112-100. Cavs clinch the top seed in the East.

yes.

I love this team. I love how much they like each other. I love the complicated handshakes. I love the sharing of the rock. I've never been this impressed with a NBA team for being a team... they may win this year (I certainly hope) they may not. But, for all its flaws, this team shows how a group of pros can be a team. The Cavs are a high-water mark for the NBA. Glad its happening in Cleveland.

I see the reason for that, but I kinda hope not. I think part of the problem with the Cavs in last year's playoffs was the time off to close the regular season and in between series disrupted their rhythm.

how so? cleveland swept their first two playoff series last year. hard to argue they weren't in rhythm heading into the orlando series.

His defense was just as good if not better last year.

They swept both of those series, and then sat around and waited nine days for the next series to start each time. It was OK against Atlanta because they weren't that good.

I'm not trying to say that's the entire reason they lost to Orlando. I'm just saying that the loss in sharpness that I saw outweighed whatever they gained in rest.
