Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

Goddamnit. Well, looks like the Lakers just flat out wanted it more. Out hustled, out rebounded, out shot and out played.

I hope if the Cavs do make it to the Finals, they don't meet LA because, honestly, I don't think they can beat them.

This loss pisses me off more than any other loss in recent memory.

True, we played like shit in the second half, but the refs decided the outcome of this game. Every bad call they made this second half resulted in points for the Lakers.

Nope. The lack of hustle, poor defense, spotty shot selection and just sub-par second half all around play lost it, not the refs. They didn't help, but they didn't cost the Cavs the game. That's a cop-out.

LBJ did not look like he wanted that game...He was happy with staying off the ball late in the game and not even touching it on some positions...

Once again we allowed the Lakers to score to easily...Z doesn't quite have the touch that he had before the injury, and we need West so he can play D on Kobe and that allows LBJ to slide onto Odom instead of Wally...

can someone explain why boobie Gibson was consistently guarding either Kobe or Lamar Odom, and regularly had box out assignemnts on Lamar???

After Lamar had 3 putbacks in the third, with Boobie defending him, I was waiting for an adjustment, and sure enough, Lamar got another offensive board with Boobie defending him.

I think it goes without saying, but 6'3 Boobie is not a good match-up on 6'10 Lamar Odom.

LA torched our defense from the jump, and that is what would concern me if we played them in the finals. In fact, our defense has gone from great to average over the last several weeks (New York, Golden State, Utah, LA) all had their ways with our defense. Those are all high scoring offenses, but we didn't have much trouble stopping high octane ofenses at the beginning of the year.

Hpefully they get some fresh legs at the break, and come out refocused on winning the East.

Hey, they win the next 2 games to go to the break at 41-10. They rest up with a week off, then come out with the entire team healthy for the second half.

The schedule in March will be tough, but I have no reason to believe they can't go 6-2 the rest of this month and 12-5 in March. That would put them 40 games over .500 (57-17) going into the last 8 games in April.

Getting Delonte' back healthy and everyone getting back to their rotation spots should help.

watching the game yesterday, i saw one thing that caused the slump in the 2nd half, i don't know if this is confirmed, but it appears that lbj shaved his beard.

w/o the beard, he has no where to get his reserve power, and is more human.

grow the beard lebron!
