Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

This game was fun to watch...Yeah they lost, but not worried the Hawks aren't a bad team, 4 games in 5 nights, officiating, we were without Z and boobie...

But LBJ showed a killer instinct tonight...I don't know what it was, but he wanted this game so bad...He played like a man possessed when we got down and he knew it was either him take over or a loss...

No one shot the ball well for us, which was the eventual down fall, and West and Mo missed shots in the last couple seconds to tie, but LBJ going after that rebound after the Mo miss was him going all out, which is something that you just didn't quite see in games that didn't mean anything in past seasons...

officiating was a lot like the Buckeyes game today...just couldn't do anything defesnively without getting called for something. Atlanta was in the bonus with 8 minutes left in the 4th.

good effort though...they battled back. The backbreaker was leaving Bibby to double Joe Johnson at the top of the key and Bibby knocked the three down.

I'm not one to lay much blame on officiating, but that was about as blatantly one-sided as I've seen in a long time. All sports have their moments, but the home-cookin' in the NBA is downright despicable at times.

or maybe...just maybe...cleveland wasn't play as good of defense, and therefore was fouling more.

The officiating has been pretty bad all year (particularly in the playoffs IMO), but it's bordering on parody now.

I will agree that officiating had an affect in this game. LBJ picking up his 4th in the 3rd forced the Cavs to change the gameplan.

The Steelers won, the officiating was bad.

After watching so many games this year, it is painfully obvious (to me) that the Big-10 has the worst officiating hands down. I would be terrified if I had a Big-10 crew officiating my bowl game.

Very questionable officiating on that drive

That was one of the worst, most blatant helmet-to-helmet hits and the ref was standing right there but is too stupid to throw the flag. Unbelievable. If I was Harbaugh, I would've been ejected from the goddamn game.

Late rally comes up just short for Cavs Winning streak ends at 11 after Williams and West miss late 3-pointers

ATLANTA: All good things come to an end.
Although the Cavaliers looked invincible during an 11-game winning streak, that ended Saturday amid frustration in a 97-92 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena.
LeBron James finished with 33 points, nine assists and six rebounds, and Mo Williams scored 26 points, but it wasn't enough.
The Hawks led almost from the start as they outrebounded the Cavs and generally outhustled them, putting the Cavs in a precarious situation. The Hawks were ahead by 14 in the third quarter, making a Cavs comeback look unlikely.
But despite that lead, the Cavs had an opportunity to tie the game in the final seconds. A 3-point attempt by Mo Williams hit the rim with a thud. James tapped it out to Delonte West, who also missed a 3-point try. That sealed the Cavs' fate.
Fans could see the exasperation on successive possessions when officials called a technical on James with 6:24 left in the third quarter for protesting a noncall.

yeah there were some questionable calls...But LBJ gets them alot so we can't complain...

the best one was the shot clock violation and how it clearly hit the rim, but the refs said it didn't and we got the ball...

Austin Carr was trying to justify that it didn't...It clearly did...

I can't stand listening to Austin. He hardly knows what he's talking about, and the homerism is too much to bear. If the game isn't being broadcasted nationally, I normally just listen to my iPod while I watch the game. It gets annoying listening to him stammer through the whole game.

I find it enjoyable and comforting. He's like Paul Keels on crack!
