Mr. Such and Such
good win on the 2nd night of a back to back, where the team didn't play well, and the refs let the sixers get away with murder.

With Boobie out for 2 weeks and Z maybe missing some time the bench is going to be even more important for the rest of the month.

Brown credits assistant Kuester as Cavaliers' invigorated offense takes flight
by Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer Reporter Thursday December 11, 2008, 7:39 PM
Joshua Gunter/The Plain DealerWith head coach Mike Brown and the Cavaliers paying rapt attention, assistant coach John Kuester diagrams a play in a timeout during a recent game at The Q. The team has become one of the most efficient offenses in the league, a vast change from recent seasons.
When the Cavaliers went through prolonged offensive slumps over the last few seasons, coach Mike Brown often found himself the target of criticism. There was urging from both inside the organization and out for him to consider adding a so-called "offensive coordinator" to his staff. It would have mirrored a bit of the philosophy Brown was a part of in his previous job, when he was the highly successful defensive coordinator for the Indiana Pacers.
Well, this season Brown has done so. He just didn't exactly tell everyone about it.
At 19-3, the Cavs possess the best offense in the NBA, in terms of efficiency. They rank fourth in scoring at just under 104 points a game, second in field-goal shooting at 48 percent and first in victory margin at more than 13 points.
Much of it can be attributed to the addition of point guard Mo Williams; the team previously lacked an accomplished lead guard, which contributed to the past trouble. But there's also another factor that has helped despite purposely not getting attention -- offensive coordinator John Kuester.

Cavaliers Insider: Z out indefinitely with ankle sprain; James tops East forwards in All-Star vote
by Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer Reporter Thursday December 11, 2008, 6:43 PM
Tracy Boulian/The Plain DealerThe Cavaliers will have to find ways to overcome the absence of 15 points and nearly eight rebounds per game provided by Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who is out indefinitely with a sprained ankle.
The Cavaliers are facing their first bit of adversity this season. Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas is likely going to be out for a while and certainly won't play in the weekend back-to-back against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Q Friday and at the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.
Ilgauskas sprained his left ankle in the fourth quarter in Philadelphia Wednesday night when he landed on Donyell Marshall's foot after contesting a shot.
Ilgauskas received an MRI on Thursday and team doctor Richard Parker diagnosed the injury as a moderate sprain. The Cavs did not officially set a timetable for his return. Ankle injuries are inconsistent, but generally moderate or "grade II" sprains can knock players out for 2-4 weeks.
The Cavs will have to find a way to replace their third-leading scorer's 14.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Last season, the team was 4-5 with him out of the lineup.
With Daniel Gibson spraining his left big toe Tuesday night, resulting in at least two-week absence, the Cavs are suddenly without two of their top eight players. For the first time this season, coach Mike Brown will have to alter his starting lineup against the 76ers.It is likely that Anderson Varejao, who played well in support of Ilgauskas on Wednesday as he scored 15 points, will be elevated to the starting lineup. There is a good chance rookies J.J. Hickson and Darnell Jackson will get increased playing time as well.
