Cavs 08-09 Season - Central Div Champs (official thread)

Holy fucking shit, people. The team's fucking 61-14, and still a game and a half ahead of LA for the best record in the entire league. They're going to having a couple bad games. Better to get them out of they way now when they don't hurt as much, than to have them in the playoffs where they can send your ass home for the season. As for playing LA, that won't happen until the finals seeing as they are in the other conference, so I'm sure any shit that's being displayed by the Cavs now will be worked out by then (if not, then they probably won't even reach to finals, so moot point).

Some "fans" would be pissed off even if Cleveland were 70-5 right now...

What can I say, I expect more out of the Cavs than I do out of the Reds or Browns.

Maybe they're having an off-night tonight. Fine - it happens. Last night though they took the night off, and to me that's not fine.

A quote from Woody comes to mind. Hopefully they are aware of it and take it to heart. I agree with jlb, I think they may have been reading a few too many of their own press clippings. I do, however, have faith in them to turn it around. This isn't the time of year to go into the tank. Not with L.A. right on their heels. I do not want it to come down to 4 games in L.A..

Mother of God, I'm turning this off...

you can look at this 2 ways.

1. They have lost there hunger and are on the verge of a breakdown.

2. This actually could be the best thing that could happen to them. It could possible wake them up and realize that they are beatable and that they need to go back to the basics that they have done all year DEFENSE. none of which i have seen the last 2 games.

The last couple of games Lebron hasnt been the typical Lebron, no slashing to the basket, Wally is just completly off his game shooting the ball terrible and playing horrible defense. Transition D well there isnt any. Turnover after Turnover, just no heart of later. ok I feel better

I doubt that. This team is too good and too hungry for that to happen. Maybe they've let off the throttle a little the past couple games, but it isn't hard to fix when you have that much talent and chemistry.

Agreed.

LeBron was wincing a good bit early on in this game, I wonder if he's nursing some sort of nagging minor injury. Wally is always a liability on D and that's been getting seriously exploited the last two nights. As for the D, I don't know. Like I said, maybe after absolutely blowing Dallas out of the water, they're resting on their laurels a little too much. The last three games have been quite subpar.

The schedule is pretty favorable though. After SA, only Boston should be an issue.

San Antonio
Washington
@ Philly
Boston
@ Indiana
Philly

They can close this out very easily, just put it back together defensively.
If the ship doesn't get righted, and fast, SA is another loss, home or not. Wasington is always a tough game, @ Philly won't be easy, nor will Boston. @ Indy shouldn't be bad and Philly at home should be an easy W. They need to get back to basics and play their asses off, because everyone is gunning for them.

Come on Rockets...

A couple things to add here, first off, EABOD on the note above. Second, I don't think there's a lot to worry about, Cleveland knows the Lakers are going to have at least one more loss when they go to Portland, so even if they drop SA or Boston they will still win the overall.
