Just got done watching the Cavs on DVR... I can't say it enough. I love this team. I don't care that it was the freaking Nets. The guard trio of Mo-Delante-Boobie is great. Andy plays with so much energy (his first quarter tonight was ridiculous) and LBJ is at or has crossed that threshold. LBJ's best play is the cross-court pass. Too bad there isn't a way a poster can capture that. He is turned from a gifted passer who can usually make the spectacular pass to an amazing passer with tremendous vision out of the post or the double team. And when the Cavs turn it up, it looks like final four defense. The bench guys are on board for the team (except maaaaaybe Sasha), and this team plays more as a unit than any team I've seen since the great Bulls of the 90s and the three-peat Lakers AT TIMES.
I hope this translates to post-season glory. Love this team. Might be worth a trip back home for a playoff game, and I PRAY that they get the Lakers in the finals so I can get to a game.
They set the franchise record with 58 wins last night and have a 5 game lead on the Magic and Celtics with 11 games left. First place in the conference is looking VERY good, and they continue to hold a lead on the Lakers for the best overall record.
Eleven in a row for the second time this season. 59-13 and 39-1 at home. As a lifelong Cleveland sports fans with battle scars from 1986, 1987, 1989, 1992, 1995, 1997 and 2007 (Tribe would have won that WS had they not coughed it up against Boston), I'm trying hard to curb my excitement. But damn, this team feels special. I have the morphine ordered...
As a Cleveland fan, I've seen some very good regular season teams: The 12-4 '86 Browns, the 57-25 '92 Cavs and the 100-44 '95 Tribe (that team was a juggernaut). But, this Cavs team may be the best of all of them. They have so much poise and confidence in their abilities and the one transcendent player all those other teams lacked.
Lead up to 10 on a beautiful crosscourt pass to Mo for a wide open three...
