My 93 Corolla and I thank you.
93' Corolla, damn, now those cars had some nice radiators in there. You could probably run that thing 200k without too many overheating problems. :tongue2:

Nice post. Glad to know you actually exist, not sure if you are familiar with the rules around here, but we're going to need to see some pic's:wink2: <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Gentlemen, this is gf speaking in my inaugural posting on the forum. Firstly, go Buckeyes!! Secondly, thank you for your words of wisdom in helping NYBuck to pull the trigger on his dream car. Over the past several months, I have been suffering in silence as he tries to resolve his cheapness with his lifelong desire for this car.

Selfishly, I am terribly tired of his requests to watch the 911 promotional video... no doubt the purchase is significant, but the entertainment value that he would gain from this car (coupled with the joy I would feel to no longer pretend I know, or care, how important engine cooling is) far outstrips the price tag. Please convince him. My 93 Corolla and I thank you.

First off, this deserves a great post award!

It sounds like you need to play pretty dirty at this point. Feel free to mention that only michigan men (if there is such a thing) would struggle so long and hard with fulfilling a dream that is completely within their reach. Let him know that a true Buckeye would have already ordered the Turbo so he may enjoy jaunts up and down the east coast and maybe even zip back for a game or two.

If that does not work, tell him only government bureaucrats act that way he is. I would think that would do it to him

Edit - If he needs some money I can loan him some vcash.

Get a WRX STi. I got a regular WRX and it's kick ass. Sure it's ugly, but it's damn fun to drive. And all wheel drive will serve you well in the Northeast.

Only pansies and dykes drive Subarus. You shouldn't have to worry about four-wheel drive anyway...your sheep are all four-wheeled. :slappy:

NYB: Dude, you only live once. If you have the coin to get your dram car now, then by all means get it. I treated myself to a Lexus IS300 when I retired from the USAF after 26 years, and despite the $530-a-month payments, I haven't regretted the choice yet (I've had it for almost four years).

My wife has a Subaru. She is actually on her third one as it is the only thing she will drive. She does get mad when I tease her and call it a "Lesbaru." Those little WRX's are quick. Our salesman was telling us a story about how he was bringing one to their main lot from a storage lot that was just down the road. Another salesman ended up next to him in some sort of Audi. I guess the Audi guy wanted to race. The WRX left him in the dust.

Of course, that does not compare to a Porsche 911 Turbo. Stop thinking and just start enjoying!

Lots of good can come from it. Besides the obvious pictures it is evident she has a sense of humor and is also ready for a dream car to be purchased.

Also, since she is going to law school maybe she can provide advice to Wolfsheep about avoiding fights.

I'm waiting to see the moniker "Charlize" pop up on the new member list.

I'm going against the herd... I'd say wait until you have two parking spaces before you purchase the car. No way would I take that out in the winter or rainy days... Unless a lot has changed those cars are not exactly reliable either. It is a racecar that constantly needs tuned.

If I were limited to one car, I wouldn't buy a true racecar... now if you could secure another parking space totally different story, assuming you could afford the car (purchase price, maintenance, insurance, etc.)...

relax Gbear... he's not buying a GT3 Porsche... they are supposed to be driven... and they are pretty reliable... its not a '73 914. (Remember too, that he doens't have to drive to work... and he can always rent a car to drive to Philly if he needs to... )

NYB- Where's she going to Law Schoool? Temple?
