Enjoy it... If your bonus was similar to others on the street, you could have prob. purchased a couple of them...

Heck of a fun car... I think Nasty purchased one as well...

NYB,

That is Awesome! that car looks great in seal gray. Enjoy it.

join the Porshce Club and get it out on a track!

Gbear, you are correct, I did in fact aquire myself a nice 911 pre-Christmas. I was able to find a very clean 1996 Carrerra C4S in my favorite 993 color Arena Red. If I play my cards right, I may be able to get into NYB's territory as my ownership experience was quite interesting.

I picked up the car from the previous owner on December 10th after having it inspected at his local Porsche Dealership. He had been advertising the car on a couple different Porsche websites, and Ebay. After I bought the car he apparently did not take the ad down on one of the Porsche sites. He received a call about the car the day before I picked it up, and it went into his voicemail. Knowing I was coming to get the car he did not return the guy's call. Apparently the guy called back a couple more times, and after calling me to see if it was OK the previous owner gave the guy my phone number and he called me. Long story short the guy called me, and after about 4 phone calls a bunch of e-mail pictures and a copy of the inspection report I sold him the car for $8,000 more than I paid for it. He picked it up on Saturday. Thankfully the weather has been great the past couple weeks, as I was at least able to drive it around for 2 weeks. I have been thanking God every day that the first guy was too lazy to return his voicemail.

So I will either be blowing the windfall in Vegas, and on tickets in Glendale, or use it to aquire another 911.

Congrats Nasty. I was looking at the 993s as well, as they are the last air cooled version and will retain value well. But in the end, I got just what I wanted. As far as the track, my car is Porsche Certified, and consequently the warranty will not expire until almost 2011. That said, I believe Porsche will void the warranty if they find out you tracked it. So, alas, must wait to find the top end.....

Someone mentioned parking to me above, and yes, that was a concern. However, since moving right across the river, my apt building has both inside and outside parking, so the Porsche went inside and my VW went outside to the tune of an extra $100 per month. Not so bad considering the same spot just over river is about $350 per mo.

Unfortunately, last night was quite rainy here so she had to stay inside. However, tonights forecast is for nothing but dry weather. I feel another late night jaunt coming...... :)

Let me see if my "friends" have any of that "special anti-radar paint" left.
