I think ESPN and a some fans in the North still consider UF a Top SEC Team. As for as SEC fans we do not. UF is a good team but not a juggarnaut of the past. UF does not strike fear in SEC teams like they used too. Im a Tiger fan and I feel LSU can beat UF every time they match up. So does Auburn, Georgia, Tenn.
It was still a good win for Mich. today. It was a fun game to watch. Geaux Tigers.
Haha, that didn't take long. How is Florida not a top SEC team? My memory may be fuzzy, I mean, I'm not perfect or anything, but I think I remember something about them winning a national championship. Maybe even just last year. And that crazy memory of mine just has to be playing tricks because I could swear they beat LSU on the way to doing it. I know they have a number of SEC championships under their belt, or it could be that all the snow is screwing with my memory again.

Last 2 years in the SEC:

Florida 12-4
Tennessee 11-5
Georgia 10-6
Kentucky 7-9
South Carolina 6-10
Vanderbilt 3-13

LSU 12-4
Auburn 11-5
Arkansas 11-5
Miss State 5-11
Alabama 6-10
Ole Miss 2-14

Last 5 years in the SEC:

Georgia 28-12
Florida 27-13
Tennessee 27-13
South Carolina 17-23
Kentucky 11-29
Vanderbilt 8-32

LSU 32-8
Auburn 31-9
Arkansas 20-20
Alabama 17-23
Ole Miss 13-27
Miss State 9-31

Clearly, Florida is one of the SEC's standard-bearers. Best team in the conference the last two years. And they play in what is obviously the SEC's tougher division. Don't try and denigrate Michigan's accomplishment today by throwing Florida to the side of the road. You say that you feel like you can beat Florida every time you match up - and I PROMISE you Gator fans feel the same way about you.

Own up to it: One of the Big Ten's best just beat one of the SEC's best. Why would you try, after the fact, to harrumph about it and pretend Florida isn't a team the SEC can hang its hat on?

Great post. That's what I said in my post when I read his statement that UF was not the Juggernaut of the "Past".........What "past" could he be referring to?

Man I LOVE seeing a Big 10 team take out an SEC team, especially Florida.
Awesome.

It makes the Big 10 look better, and in a way gets a little redemption for what Florida did last January.

The thing I loved the most about the game was how hard Tebow was hit all day long. If the Big 10 is going to get a rep about being a "big, slow conference", then we are going to be the conference to hit you in the mouth and having you remember the next morning about who you played the day before.
so did LSU, Auburn, Georgia.

after all that number crunching it is clear that OSU lost to the 2nd best team in the SEC. Now this year you have to play the best. ( P.S Most around the country consider the WEST the tougher side of the division.) pps. IF you read my threads I said it was a good win for MICH.

Well, then either "most around the country" are plain ijits, or you have a twisted view of what most people around the country think. A quick look at what I see from the numbers tells me the West has two excellent teams and the East has three.

I saw where you claimed to believe it was a good win for Michigan. The rest of your post(s) don't back that up.

P.S. - How is it that OSU lost to "the second best team in the SEC" when Florida was the SEC champion that year? Weird. Are you going by the fact that both LSU and Florida are 12-4 in the SEC over two years? Would that make LSU also the second best? I'm confused.

How about them gators getting beat by the 3rd-4th best team in the Big10? Heisman wasn't able to get it done today. If scUM doesn't gift wrap 4 turnovers for them, they lose by 17 or more. Without Harvin, that offense looks weak.

That's not true in the slightest. I don't know anyone who thinks the west is tougher
Just look at the numbers your guy just posted. The bottom 3 in the west are better than than the bottom 3 in the east. I cant remember the last time LSU lost to vandy USC or Kentucky (mabe 98) . LSU is the best in the last 5 years. UF and Tenn are Tied. with UGA being the best and the Tigers are 2 and 2 in the last 4 meetings. The national media has you confused with their love for UF and Tenn. (Tigers own Tenn.) In fact in the 05 or 06 Phil Steel mag. he did a huge write up on this issue and concluded when it comes down to football WEST is BEST.
