I was home after graduating from college.

I was in 5th grade and I still remember the teacher coming into the room with this real serious look and making the announcement. We then got to watch the news the rest of the day.

Ahh yes, the tasteless joke. I had a boss that had cross eyes. Behind his back everyone called him "old blew eyes."

I was in 2nd grade. My class went to the janitor's "office" to watch it on a T.V. that was on a cart. When it happened, some kids, not knowing what had happened, started cheering. Our teacher, poor old woman, started bawling.

On second thought, that was the same teacher that ripped up my tOSU B-ball program with Dennis Hopson's autograph on it. I didn't have it in my desk at the precise time the bell rang....

I remember watching it and everyone just being like what? I was in the 3rd grade at the time.

In a realated story last year in My soc class we were talking about this and I mentioned about being in the third grade. I quickly did the math and relized that no one else in the class was probally even alive when it happened.

The Science Channel showed a special on how the Morton Thiokol engineers vehemently opposed the launch while their management blew them off and told NASA it was "within launch parameters". Those managers should be put in jail...

I was in our elementary school gym... after the explosion we were sent back into our rooms and talked about what had just happened... I remember the explosion and the loud gasp after. Then silence (which doesn't happen with a gym full of kids... the whole school was in that gym)...
