Re: Cecil Newton owns a landscaping company and is the pastor of the church in Newnan. For two years, the congregation has struggled to pay for and make repairs to the building it owns to keep the city from condemning it.
Last month, the city determined that Holy Zion had completed the major repairs necessary to comply with the building code. The news was welcome to the small congregation, said Bobbie Blandburg, the church?s financial officer.

Cecil Newton Sr. told ESPN.com that N.C.A.A. investigators requested bank statements and other documents related to his small church, the Holy Zion Center of Deliverance, in Newnan, Ga.

All I want to know is: Where did the money come from that Cecil Newton used to fix up his church?

Most likely his brother....the story is there is an FBI tape allegedly saying "$250,000 will be given to Cecil Newton's brother in Michigan who can funnel the money to the dad."

I doubt the NCAA can do anything if Cecil proves his money came from his brother. How can they get his brother to prove where $250,000 came from? They have zero power to force anyone outside of the Newton's to show financial records...it's what they're dealing with.

The F.B.I. on the other hand....

Dez Bryant broke no rules, but lied to the NCAA, because he thought he might of. He was ineligible for the rest of the year.

But a couple hundred grand to play is cool.

A couple hundred grand is not cool.....you're misinterpreting what is happening. The NCAA has zero power to make people cooperate. As in the Reggie Bush case, it took court testimony and stories being told under oath for them to rule on the case.

If Cam Newton has done anything wrong, the F.B.I. will unveil it. But the F.B.I doesn't work on the NCAA's timetable. They're busy putting a case together against MaCgregor and other Alabama influential people who were bribing lawmakers.

They have 7,000 tapes and are likely going to use over 2,000 in their case. Again, the rumor is there are tapes involving a PFP scheme and the Newton's. I'm sure the NCAA is watching as well. If anything develops Auburn will be scorched. Until then, the NCAA is powerless....
