Damnit Mac.

Take it to Wal-Mart and tell them you don't have the receipt and that's how it looked when you opened it.

Try renting it and installing it to your HDD and then trying using your disk before you go out and buy a new copy.

Genius! Try cleaning the ring up as much as possible... The cleaner it gets, the more readable it is. Had one of my disks get a HORRIBLE ring on it.. Was able to clean it up enough to where the game would start up and eveything, just wouldn't play. But having it installed will bypass reading it off the disk.

Try putting toothpaste(might want to google this) on top of the disk and then buffing it off with a clean/soft towl.

The game boots up fine, just when I select campaign/multiplayer/spec ops is when I get the disk read error. I just don't know where to rent it, since I don't rent anything lol

I'd try blockbuster. I did a search on their site and it looks like there are quite a few stores in C-bus. I would call around and see if anyone has any copies before you go there. Since it's just a hot/new game chances are it will be hard to find. If someone has one ask them to hold it for you. At our store you can rent it for like 2, 5 or 7 days.

Toothpaste worked a little just not enough. I'm just going to try installing it to my HDD.

Edit: I'm trying to install it with my disk right now and see how that goes. You never know. If not then I'm calling blockbuster.....I got the disk read error @ 36%. Oh well. Now to call Blockbuster :(

Edit#2: I just searched about borrowing/renting a game and installing it to the HDD, and then using the scratched disk to play. People have said this works fine!!!

Yep, I've read the same as well.

Even better would be if you can borrow a friend's copy of the game and save yourself the rental fee.
