Sling or PlayStation Vue Apps are all you need

PlayStation Vue offers BTN

PlayStation Vue is accepted as a provider on BTN2go

^This. I've also done the free trials for huluTV and youtubeTV in preparation for football season. Both have BTN. I like youtubetv better for 3 screens at a time (vs. 2 for hulu) and unlimited cloud dvr (vs. 50 hrs per month for hulu) but the family likes hulu better for all the tv shows on it. Lots of great choices right now.

No BTN on Direct TV Now or Sling that I have seen. PSVue was ok, but no locals here and the same with Sling.

I’m going back to Spectrum for a year soon for football season. It’s pretty close to a break even with the internet included in it as opposed to $65 for internet and then the add on services you want.

Has anyone had any issues with PSVue hiccuping during live sports?

Mine's been pretty much a mess for baseball this summer.

I'm envisioning a scenario where PSVue continues this crap on Opening Day of the college/pro football seasons and I flip out....

I haven't had any problem with PSVue but I only use it for Tribe games and BTN. Occasionally ESPN but that is rarely lately, although might pick up during football season. Anything on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox I use the antenna to ensure no delays/problems.

We recently switched from DirecTV Now to YouTube TV for a few reasons.

1. We use roku's in all our rooms and YTT performs MUCH better than DTVN on the Roku's
2. Unlimited Cloud DVR that works (DTVN was horrible)
3. Better guide functionality and ability to quickly toggle between multiple channels.
4. DTVN had a hard time recognizing where I physically was using Geolocation. I would often get Nevada, Louisville, or Cincinnati locals and not get STO/FSO which was a big deal breaker for me and why I ultimately switched. So far YTT has recognized my location accurately all the time.

Both have all our local major networks as well as STO and Fox Sports Ohio, as well as BTN and ESPN. DTVN had better channel lineup (includes Viacom channels where YTT does not) as well as History/Discovery. My workaround for those has been to download the individual apps on Roku and login with my brothers Spectrum account.

I am running a second TV with Spectrum on a Roku and it is bad. I lose service a lot, it is slow and blotchy, and the app has to load every time.

I can’t tell if it is the Spectrum app or the Roku device. My internet is 100 mb plus and my wireless is 5g. Prior to this I did PS Vue and Direct TV now on Firesticks on the same network with no issues. I’ve tried the Spectrum app through my Samsung smart hub and that’s even worse.

Anyone else using Spectrum? I know they don’t have their app on the Firestick so not an option.

Can't answer about Spectrum, but my Roku+ is rock solid for streaming and quickness.

You sure that's not your interweb tubes rather than Roku? I've had VUE through a Roku Ultra now for a year, and it's flawless.

My buddy just gave me a complimentary Roku Express to see if getting PSVue on that rather than the Fire Stick would make a difference. I'll report back.

The buffering/jittery-ness was bad this weekend; not unwatchable but still, I'm paying $60 for this shit.

Was debating going back to Vue, but man, the minute plus delay on the feed is enough to drive me insane after having regular cable again, since I post on here and follow Twitter as well during games. Might switch after football season, but then I run into the same thing with basketball, and that can be even worse. Damnit, everyone needs to switch to a service with serious delay so that it isn't a delay anymore.

I got spectrum about a month, maybe 6 weeks ago. I have the same problems with the roku app. It's completely unreliable. I don't think it's the roku, though. Other apps on Roku work just fine. I have one dvr box... hell of a lot of good it does to have it... anything I record is unwatchable due to freezes and pixelation. I mean, unwatchable in every respect. EVERY recording. EVERY time. When it freezes, the whole system becomes unresponsive and I have had to reboot the box many times, some times multiple times in one incident. The box has returned error codes any number of times, as has the Roku. It has been something literally every week of having this service. The internet works great, I will say, but the TV aspect of Spectrum is clearly not ready for prime time. Their customer service leave something to be desired as well.

Going back to Direct TV for 15 bucks less than what I moved to Spectrum (from Direct) for.

I have to mute game notifications on Sling and BTN and only go on BP during breaks due to the delay. My out the door of $80 for Internet and TV is worth it. At my old house I was paying double that for both. Sling works great on Roku and Amazon. I already had a Plex Pass and HD Home Run for local channels and DVR.

Maybe instead of everyone switching to a service with a delay can we get a delay setting on BP? If you know you're a minute behind you could set the BP delay to a minute and you don't have to worry about spoilers. it isn't like anyone reads every comment in a game thread anyway. I usually just like to keep an eye on Spy for my talking points.
