2026 CA WR Chris Henry Jr. Is a Buckeye!!!

How many high schools is that now? Three, four? Fortunately his reputation should precede him and he’ll have an easy adjustment. I moved around a lot and hated always being the new kid. Making new friends, figuring out who was real vs phony, guys wanting to fight just to show off for girls, etc.
I believe this is the 3rd(West Clermont, Withrow, Mater Dei). I was hoping that Pacman could provide a stable home and remain in Cincy, but not sure what happened there. And it wouldn't be fair to speculate. But I don't see this affecting his commitment to OSU, but I could see this possibly helping with the other Mater Dei players(most notably Davidson, and even Wyatt). His sister becoming a Buckeye, Hartline being at OSU along with MHjr going in the top 5 in the draft has me not worried all that much about his recruitment. Doesn't seem like a kid from SoFL(if you get my drift)

Former Bengals DT Domata Peko will be taking care of Chris Henry Jr when he's out in California. Its so cool seeing that Chris Henry has former teammates looking out for his son

This is a story that could easily be made into a movie. Love the family motive that surrounds Henry, and the former Bengals (I believe) that are surrounding him with the family influence - coast to coast. Great plan for the kid, and mentorship. Will be watching this one closely, certainly for the Buckeye's interests, but for the young man's as well. Wondered why not IMG for the competitive atmosphere, but then thought that Mater Dei has that as well, and maybe not as structured (no helicopter parents allowed), than IMG. Very impressive.

I can ensure you that CHjr has an insanely structured regimen. hes literally being trained by former NFL players. His mother has entrusted not only Pac-Man, but numerous Bengals to help raise CHjr and keep him on the right path to get to the best college that can get him the best chance to get to the NFL. He has a village raising him, it speaks loudly to how respected and loved his father was. I’ll tell you this, in the off season when he was in Cincy I personally heard of him training with: Chad Johnson, TJ Housmanzadeh, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, Leon Hall, Darqueze Dennard, Rey Maluaga and of course Pac-Man.

Wow! Guess I'm not as close to the situation as you are Pnuts. That is significant mentorship. Great names and great players have got Chris in their hands. Certainly impressive that the father/mother had that kind of impact on others, and they're going over and above for 'one of theirs'. Now I'm interested in buying the rights to make this kid's movie, even before he dons scarlet & gray. Can't wait.

It is awesome how Chris Henry Sr's Cincy family has stepped up to the plate, and how Chris Henry Jr has made the most of it. Could have been a really bad situation but the support he got is really inspiring. The move to Cali will help his overall development imo, not like he was playing bad competition at all in Cincy but he's going to play about the best competition you possibly could at the HS level. Only part I don't like is having to wait so long to see him in Columbus.
