Depends on the hire. But Day has already made one solid replacement for a coach. Idk why he can't do it again.Going to be interesting to see if Alford leaving hurts or helps here

Ohio State was the front-runner in Davison’s recruitment until Wednesday morning when it was announced that Buckeyes position coach Tony Alford was leaving for Michigan in a stunning move. The Wolverines will be a team to watch here no doubt but Texas has remained the steady program in his recruitment.
Georgia, Colorado and others remain involved with the five-star as well.
If the Buckeyes bring in an elite running back coach, things could settle down here but Davison’s recruitment just got a whole lot more interesting.
Prediction: Ohio State

“Man, Coach Lock is my guy. Me and him are close, close. My relationship with him is great. Probably one of the best relationships I have with a coach.
Sure hope this isn't some April 1st joke.
Following up with Davidson after Peoples would be pretty ridiculous (and either of our Ohio RBs). Putting Davidson aside, Lock is a great hire...but that is a heck of a cherry on top if he brings this kid in.AE feels the Locklyn hire pretty much seals Davidson to OSU…
The news that Ohio State was hiring Oregon position coach Carlos Locklyn to replace Alford was welcomed by Davison and it might even be an upgrade coming to Columbus when it comes to the five-star’s recruitment.
“I’ve been knowing for a while, I just haven’t said much about it, just trying to keep it low,” Davison said of the Locklyn news. “The trip went good. Being around the players and being around coach Day and coach Chip Kelly was very good. They showed a whole bunch of love there. They did things that stand out there.
“They talked about using me and the way they talked about using me and just spending time with me. You had all those recruits there but they took most of the time out of their day to spend it with me. That was very important to me.
“Not many people know the relationship me and coach Lock have even when he was at Oregon. We clicked from Day 1 so that would be a big hire and would settle most of my things about the running back spot there.”

Ohio State’s hiring of former Oregon running backs coach Carlos Locklyn is good news to the five-star running back who’s had the Buckeyes at the top of his recruitment but concerns grew when Tony Alford left the Buckeyes for Michigan.
The word is Locklyn might even be an upgrade for the Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei standout since he had such a strong relationship when Locklyn was recruiting Davison to Eugene and so Ohio State still looks like the team to beat in Davison’s recruitment with a big visit coming up this weekend to Texas.
