Uzomah is has many of the tools it takes to be an elite quarterback. He has great size, he has great mobility, he is very smart, and he can make plays. As a junior he is still learning the position, improving his technique, and becoming the total QB. He needs to work throwing the ball with consistency and show more arm strength. I feel the arm is there, but he has to just let it go with confidence. - Chad Simmons

Scout Bio said:
C.J. Uzomah finished his junior season with 153-of-257-completions for 1,723 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also ran the ball 109 times for 710 yards and 10 touchdowns. Uzomah says he can bench 285-pounds, squat 400 and has a 35-inch vertical jump.

Uzomah isn't sure what he'd like to major in but is considering psychology. He reports a 3.0 core GPA and is taking the SAT on March 13.

Uzomah: "I'm a leader as a quarterback and like to be encouraging to my team. I have great footwork, technique and a strong arm. Our head coach is also the quarterback coach and he really stresses technique.

"I also have the ability to get the ball out of my hands fast. I've got a pretty good deep ball, but I'm still working on my accuracy. I want to be more precise and place the ball exactly where it needs to be all the time. I'm pretty tall so I have the tendency to let the ball go high on me."

Scout $ - Uzomah Plans Summer Commit

2/15

By Wallace...talks about the junior days he went to at Auburn and Georgia...plans to go to junior days at Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt...wants to visit Northwestern and Florida during spring break...has offers from Georiga, South Carolina, Clemson, South Florida, Kentucky, Northwestern, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, LSU, Miami, Maryland, North Carolina and Oklahoma State...grew up a fan of OSU and his mom's family is from Ohio...OSU is recruiting him but have not offered...wants to commit by the end of the summer.

Longest of longshots. Auburn has supposedly made him their number one QB on their board. With BM as our number one, it will be hard to sell this kid when there are so many other top programs on him down south.

It is good to see the staff kicking the tires, though.

Impressive offers, if by some small chance we do miss out on Braxton, does he get an offer before Cardale?

I think there may be a slight possiblity we offer this kid. Especially when we(more than likely) lose Randall, then this kid may get an offer. But IMO we go after the Ohio QBs this year(Jones and Stoudt) before offering more OOS kids.

Maryland Football Recruiting 2011 - ESPN

Peach State three-star athlete C.J. Uzomah headed to Auburn

The Tigers have snared a commitment from receiver/quarterback prospect C.J. Uzomah of North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.), for the Class of 2011.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Uzomah also considered LSU.

Among his many other offers were Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, Miami-Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, South Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Southern Mississippi and Wake Forest.

"Really it was just the feel of the campus and the community and the whole thing. There's no place like it to me. Forty years down there road I know I'll say I made the right decision," he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

As a quarterback, he passed for 1723 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. He added 710 yards and another 10 scores on the ground.

The three-star prospect becomes the 13th pledge for Auburn.
