As for your question, it's free education. Some people consider that to have value, even if it doesn't increase their net worth.

haha, I agree with you in theory but be realistic. A vast majority of stuff you learn in college is not stuff thats actually important to know. You just learn it, and get tested on it to prove that you can learn things. If they didnt show up to their classes, I'm not even sure if it'd stand out that much. One of my roommates hasnt been to some of his classes since the 2nd week of the quarter lol. It would seem to me that if they are still showing up to their classes, that they are not sure what their plans are, but who really knows? Only time will tell.

Greg seems to be an honorable man and mature beyond his years. This gives me confidence that whatever he decides will be a decision based not on emotion or impatience, but a decision that is based on reason and is what is best for Greg. Not for anybody else including the NBA, tOSU, or any of the other characters involved in this situation.
I would dispute your notion of what constitutes an adult decision.

This was in the SI.COM Rumors section today, not that I necessarily agree with any of it, but if it helps keep GO in Columbus for another year, someone needs to show it to him:

Greg Oden isn't Bill Russell. He's a bit on the deliberate side. Also, despite his physical appearance, I'm told he's somewhat immature and I think the adjustment to the NBA will be difficult for him.

It's a minor point, but a mature decision, an adult decision, is not based solely on what is good for oneself. My comment isn't specific to Greg Oden per se. But children make decisions, reasoned or not, based solely on the criterion of "what's best for me". Adults weigh additional factors.

Depending on what kind of person I am (or Greg Oden, or anyone), when I make a decision that is "best for me", it already takes into consideration what is best for my wife and children...what is best for me is that my wife and children are taken care of...they (decisions concerning myself & my family) are one and the same (again depending on the type of person an individual is). So saying that Greg Oden should make the decision that is "best for him" doesn't necessarily exclude the others in his life, i.e., 'an immature decision'.
