C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

Why is everyone all of a sudden being some optimistic about this? I mean I hope he comes back next year too, but is the optimism based on anything other than ananymous sources?

I hardly think that a couple of posts on a message board equals "everyone." The fact that he has not come right out and said that he is leaving demonstrates that he is at least considering the possibility of staying. That is reason to be optimistic.

My roommate saw Greg Oden in class yesterday taking notes. I don't know about you guys, but if I had already made up my mind that I was going pro to make millions then I wouldn't be bothered with going to class.
I wouldn't put too much stock in that. The fact is, some people view education as a reward in and of itself, rather than as an obligation, or merely as a means to making a living. Kudos to Greg Oden if he is such a person.

I've had a $1 bet on him returning since before the sweet 16. We'll have to wait and see, why not be optimistic? Lifes much more enjoyable until you get shot the fuck down :)

I don't think Greg is the type of person that's going to look to make the big announcement.

I imagine when his announcement is made, it will be just him, Coach Matta, and his family and maybe Conley and a few friends. I don't think he'll turn this into a spectacle, regardless of what decision he makes.

I would think calling a press conference with just you your coach and family is more of a spectacle then to announce it at somthing that is already planned.

1460 reporting both Oden & Conley are expected to announce their decisions tonight at the celebration...They are expected to announce their intentions to enter the NBA Draft.

I wouldn't think they would announce they were leaving in front of all the fans. If they're announcing they're staying, I could see them doing it there, but not leaving

That's the craziest rumor yet. Why would you want to announce at a team rally that you are leaving the team? Why would you want to disappoint everyone in attendance?

Seems dumb to announce that there.

Tomorrow's Dispatch Headline "Oden and Conley announce they are heading to the NBA at rally. Both receive career ending injuries during the ensuing riot."

Love to both Oden and Conley no matter what they decide. Thanks for at least one great season. I just hope there will be more.
