Butler +3.5 vs UConn (ov/un 129.5) Mon 9 ET, CBS

I want Butler to win badly. I'm a huge admirer of what Brad Stevens has done there. But, Kemba Walker worries me. He had a bit of an off game tonight and I think the chances of him going off tomorrow are pretty strong. Then again, if uconn decides to go full retard down the stretch like tonight, Butler is fundamentally sound enough to take advantage.

This game should be a real "dog fight".

Actually I expect a repeat of 2004: i.e. UConn to win the men's NCAA National Championship and the women's NCAA National Champioship in the same season.

Cheap seats available.....

UConn Basketball Keeps Pace with Football

Remember when everyone was blasting UConn and the BCS when the Huskies failed to come close to selling their allotment of tickets for the Fiesta Bowl? Many jumped on the bandwagon that it was proof that all bowl games besides the National Championship were meaningless and that it wouldn?t happen if we had a playoff. I don?t claim to know why UConn failed to sell their tickets for the BCS game. I do know that BCS games tickets cost a lot more money, and maybe UConn fans didn?t want to travel all the way across the country to watch their football team get their butt whooped. But I really don?t know why.
I do know that UConn is a basketball school. I do know that they have had one of the better programs in the country ever since Jim Calhoun took the squad over in 1986. This is their 4th Final Four appearance in the last 13 years, and will be their 3rd National Title game in the same time period. Schools are only allotted 3500 tickets to sell for the Final Four before they become available to the public. Butler University, who UConn will play in the National Title game only sold 1900 tickets. But then again, they only have 4000 students. UConn won?t have a problem. Big school, big program?

Darren Rovell tweeted last night that now that the finals game is pitting these two teams against one another, they will be selling off their tickets for $10 a pop. It is estimated that there could be as many as 15,000 empty seats. Some tickets may be as cheap as $5.00 a pop to watch a basketball game in a football stadium. BCS National Title game had tickets going for as cheap $1500.00. It sold out.

Line 5 is new, and has been added as a way to simply lose vCash. I'm assuming nobody will take even money odds on Kemba scoring 50+.

When the server was switched a couple of weeks ago, some vBets that were made that day were lost. I had tracked some of them manually, and sent PMs to a handful of folks to see if they wanted to have their bets still active. Anybody that said yes and lost money overall can use that line to bet the amount that they would have lost had the bets been retained.

If you listen to Mike & Mike at all you probably know Liam's mum, the producer's mom, who lives in England and knows nothing about our sports. They went through the bracket with her, game by game, and she picked winners. They did this before the tourney began. I remember listening to it on my way to work. Usually her picks are just bizarre.

She had UConn and Butler in the title game, with UConn winning. I've got to find the audio.

They mentioned that this morning, and said that the picks were made on March 17. That should narrow your search.
